My couch radio listening setup. A UV-K5(8) transceiver for local airband, 2M and 70cm traffic. The receivers are a ATS Mini v4, ATS-20, abd and a Radio Shack Dx-394. The DX-394 is a little off frequency in the ham bands but I can adjust that with the fine tuner. #hamradio #shortwave

It’s an awesome magazine, very handy to have if you are into the C64 way of life.

A Japanese spacecraft is rocketing toward Mars on an unprecedented quest to explore its mysterious moons and bring back samples.

All set for Halloween! I found the teeth file online and I designed the eyes myself.

True!

Elon Musk really is a steaming pile of shit. Cutting off Starshield access again on behalf of his business partner, Trump, is just evil. He should be flogged and rolled in salt.

Did you get one of those nifty Pico Micro Macs in the last year or so? Did you know you can get a refit kit that adds audio and 464k of RAM? If you have a version 3 with the SD card socket on the bottom, then this is for you! jcm-1.com/product/pi...

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979): Matte painting by Syd Dutton

I’m at it again for #inktober2026 More proof that I’m not ever going to make a buck with a pen. I’ll stick with a camera. Still, it’s fun to sketch with a prompt.

I remembered to draw something for #inktober2026, a cactus!

One of the yard squirrels was running around a tree and looking cute so I grabbed the camera and shot this. #squirrels

😼

I thought I’d give this ‘Inktober’ thing a try. I’m not an artist so my drawings are mostly technical. #inktober2026

Since moving to the center of the US I’ve been scanning more of the shortwave frequencies for distant weather fax stations. I’ve found that I’m able to receive charts from the UK on 8038.1KHz. Pretty neat! #shortwaveradio #wefax

Turn the knob, know who you're hearing. otd is a free app for shortwave listeners: it follows your receiver and names the stations on the frequency, live, from #EiBi, #HFCC and #Aoki. Works offline too, for when the internet is down. otd.oh2gba.eu #shortwave #SWL #hamradio #emcomm #sdr #websdr

I still dont understand why it cost me 600 to put down/cremate my cat. Little dude was not even 7lbs of skin and bones. Compassion for our pets shouldn't be so expensive 🥲

I think it’s worth reposting this. #Imissmycat #cats #Pixelthecat

I’m posting more photos of Pixel, my feline friend of 18 years. She passed this week and she was an amazing cat. #cat #imissmycat #pixelthecat

I lost Pixel yesterday to the ravishment of time. I was with her for 18 years, I keep thinking of her and crying. #cats #Pixelthecat #imissmycat

I had to put Pixel down today. Her health started failing a few days ago. I took her in for an exam and they said it was either her heart or kidneys. It was a hard decision but I know she’s not in pain anymore. I’ll miss my little shadow. I’ve had her in my life for over 18 years.

I. Can’t. Wait.

This Day in Labor History: September 15, 1845. Women working in the Pittsburgh textile mills met in Market Square to discuss the necessity of fighting to cut their days from 12 to 10 hours without a reduction in pay. The workers struck and a militant confrontation with capital resulted!

BREAKING NEWS: Otter receives head scritches.

A Commodore 64!

Someone else said it for him. Love him. Miss him.

Go unions!

This made my day

Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security. Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations. Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people. —Harry Truman, 1952

Backyard squirrel!

Nice piece:

My kind of American 👍

Muslims aren't the United States' biggest threat. Christian nationalists like mean, crazy, and fake-Christian Nancy Mace are. (And Trojan is capitalized, you semi-literate troll.)

Writers can get a bit carried away. Or not. #cinema
