The exception to this rule is that if you’re at a Pop Will Eat Itself gig, you MUST wear the merch, and the older the better.

I have been going to gigs for over 30 years, but for some reason I will avoid wearing the t shirt of a band that are on the bill. I don't know why this is, but it's always been the case. I know this isn't the most exciting confession, but it is true.

The UK is only in debt because it Privatised everything. If Margaret Thatcher had never existed and we never privatised Oil, Gas, Electricity, Airports, Water, Mail, Rail, Rolls Royce, British Airways... We would have Trillions of Pounds and own everything, just like Norway.

Dear tv and radio producers. Thankyou for the invitation. But, no, I do not want to appear on your show to defend the idea that I am English, after 50 years of living and working here, because the increasingly feral right want to turn this into a "debate" and you cannot see how you're being played

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

If you would like to add your voice to tens of thousands of people thanking RNLI volunteers for their work, 38 Degrees have organised this open letter to express public support (at a time when a hateful fringe have been intimidating & abusing RNLI volunteers) act.38degrees.org.uk/act/rnli-tha...

act.38degrees.org.ukAn open letter in support of the volunteers and staff at the RNLIThis is a disgrace. Brave RNLI volunteers being called scum for risking their lives to save others at sea is just plain wrong. So I've signed an open letter of thanks for the RNLI letting them know th...

Turns out that if you are an old lady with a banner supporting Palestine, the government arrests you on charges of terrorism. If you are a masked white male thug bringing a national port to a standstill, the government does absolutely nothing, and the media covers it like some lads on a day out.

I want the Prime Minister to look into a TV camera and say the RNLI are heroes, that we do not change policy by street violence in this country, and that he expects any criminal action to face the full force of the law. That's it. That's all he has to do.

A few years ago I went to a pig sanctuary and most of the pigs were stoned from eating green acorns. This one, Wilbur, couldn’t stand up and was too big to lift, so the staff had to leave him in this bush and wait for him to sober up.

Maybe it was the haze of exotic* cigarettes that made it feel that way. Not Gitanes

Our local Greggs has put tables and chairs outside for the summer. I took my girlfriend there for lunch today and we had a sausage roll and a coffee sitting in the sun. I felt so continental. It was like being in Paris, not Wolverhampton.

It was 2018 when I drove >40 miles to Stoke just for the evening to meet up with @glennairey.bsky.social to see GIMC-P. Tiny venue, he’ll remember the name. It was just after MES’s death, they did ‘How I Wrote Elastic Man’ I think, as a tribute.

The Riot Grrrl scene also liberated and gave voice to LGBTQI indie kids! Before it, there wasn't any kind of reference that I could see that spoke to us and for us specifically. Heaven to Betsy feature in link! www.theguardian.com/music/2026/a...
