Historian hive! do you know any academic historian who wrote a novel that was a historical novel? Say, Lawrence Douglas from Amherst College wrote two novels but they are contemporary. So not that.

Thank you all for all the wonderful tips on historical novels written by academics. I am inspired, grateful, and humbled, but most importantly, have lots of nice books to read.♥️

ive talked on how i wont engage with writers who use ai, i wont eat at a restaurant with an ai menu, i wont have anything to do with it. but what this post illustrates is regardless of how OTHERS react, ultimately the worst part about using ai is that you are punishing YOURSELF and dont even know it

"Policies that aim to define or restrict a person’s sex or gender are not rooted in scientific reality; they’re based on political ideology."

The Advocate@advocate.com

On Intersex Awareness Day, Zach Eisenstein explains why political attempts to define sex as strictly male or female ignore scientific reality.

Oh no. :( But yeah that piece of work is still brilliant. Just sad to see people lose their spark to have to turn to Ai. So Sad.

Somehow in a narrative setting (aka fiction, poetry, anything expressive) scent felt so deep they taste it, has some qualities of an oral fixation for me. Put your nose in there, and where your nose is, are your mouth, your tongue, your teeth. It's the sense only to be witnessed in person.

In regard to my last posts: I like the dichotomy of white flowers so often being associated and symbolic for purity, chastity, cleanliness. Many times liked to be used as funerary bouquets. The solemnity the grandeur.

Hunger and desire are so similar in their craving. Drinking in perfume, gulping in air. It's feasting without eating, but there is always the chance to bite down, hard. Maybe I have an interest in the oral fix topics...

Aka hello, that what I kinda try with my vampires but I am agraid my execution wont be where it needs to be. But uh..... I have a vision... Also: cakeverse and Hannibal.♡

But it's all these white flowers with intoxicating notes of pungent sweetness and dirty sex. One is the layer of visual representation and symbolic meaning. The other the layer of the sense of smell that can only be witnessed in person. And at one time the scent was the point for funerary homes

#Nightblooming A powdery tuberose, white narcissus, white heliotrope, white peony, white lily and a smell of dry leaves burned by an electryfying current in the air.

If your book/wip were distilled into a perfume, what would it smell like? #WritingPrompt

Except for burned leaves wich is scene specific the rest ist flower language based... though the lilys are more used in their function as a showy popular funeral bouquet. It's a very grande gesture of death, imho. Think of the perfume Lush - Dead and Decay.

It's years upon years upon years later that I realized in a certain way how close to home the Manga Loveless was.The Ritsuka and his Mother stuff I mean. Not in *That* way, but in the clingy way.I akways looked up to the way Ritsuka was written, to his strength.I didn't know I kinda felt inspired

I know the vast majority of you are here because of my art, but I need to share a thread about Brazilian politics because what we achieved today deserves to be mentioned and celebrated I'll do my best to be objective for those who have no idea what was happening

Replying to @ddbtorres.bsky.social

I'm sharing this (very long) thread for two reasons: 1. a real life example of how mobilized and determined population CAN change the tide against all odds 2. Trump and Flávio will very likely attempt something soon; stay tuned, because we might need help.
