www.kickstarter.com/projects/pup... Proud of my friend and former coworker for his upcoming kickstarter. Help him make his cartoon for toddlers a reality.
Fun fact: Suburban sprawl like what is pictured here typically costs more in public services (water, sewer, garbage collection, etc.) than it collects from property taxes.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.
This is just literally a plan from a bad guy in an 80's movie where a kid, his best friend and a girl he has a crush on have some sort of adventure.
Of course the Trump Savings Accounts for kids turns out to be scam. In effect, "our president is helping rich donors offload overvalued stocks onto children, who are forced to hold the stocks for five years whether they want to or not." www.rawstory.com/trump-accoun...
A former coworker of mine who brough a lot of life to The Cognitoys Dino is working on an animated show for young children. If you are a parent of a young child, check this out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6fj...
I know how people listen to music. Special devices called "speakers" vibrate the air around them producing patterns of motion in the air called "sound waves". Those sound waves propagate to the person's ear drum which then sends a signal to the brain that is interpreted as "music".
Everyone is getting on Sony for this obviously anti-consumer patent, but it is actually a really good thing they filed for this. Just think, if Sony owns this idea then it will be more expensive and more difficult for other companies to do something like this.

In grad school I had an advisor/collaborator who refused to use gmail because he thought Google would steal his ideas and that his research in cryptography would lead him to having problems traveling to Russia if those emails got leaked. Oh, how he must be laughing right now.
Four days ago, a scientist was surprised by the news that Anthropic discovered new virus genes for making DNA. He says he’s been studying them for years—and feeding his data to Anthropic’s AI as part of his own research. Coincidence? Here’s my story. nyti.ms/3VSWayc
en.gamegpu.com/news/zhelezo... Oh look at that. I "may reconsider" buying playstation games again.
Reduce your toxic points penalty by rephasing to be a little more polite. "Greetings. Please fuck off with that. Thank you."
you just know that posting "i'm just trying to start a polite conversation about who deserves human rights" will not be marked 'toxic,' but anyone responding 'hey fuck off with that' will earn +5 toxic points

I love this. It puts words to so much stuff I've had to deal with at my work recently. Lots of misplaced effort (and yes panic) about what recent developments in cybersecurity actually mean for us.
I did a somewhat deep dive into the recent OpenAI and Anthropic "hacks" for an upcoming interview. IMO, the AI companies are better off running with the "rogue AI" story because the real story is actually pretty embarrassing. Like making your Wi-Fi password "wifi" embarrassing. 🧵
The victims did not complain after we killed them.
“We shut down half the hospices in Los Angeles,” Dr. Oz told The Post, “and they didn’t complain.” People in hospice are actively dying. Of course no one complained, they were too busy losing the care that keeps them comfortable at the end of their life. He called that a win.
@ritchietorres.bsky.social what the hell man?
Here are the 33 Democrats who voted with Republicans to block federal funding to American colleges if they engage in boycotts against Israel — a foreign country that's committed genocide and killed Americans using American tax dollars:

This is what I've been saying. There is this cool bit of tech that should be opening up vast areas of creativity and dramatically simplify the workloads of lots of people, but business demands that it be sold as "employees will be a thing of the past".
I am coming to believe we need a better quality of AI booster www.theverge.com/ai-artificia...
