I am practically alone in the fact that the last decade has made me more, not less, appreciative of the conventions of mainstream reporting. But the refusal to do more than to acknowledge yesterday's report from the House Judiciary Dems is beyond the pale

I would love to see the graph of horny young men who also decided, "I bet this target of my affection wants to see me naked." Maybe it's a lottalotta higher than I suspect.

This of course leaves aside the notion men seem to have that someone is going to see a picture of them in the altogether and, so overtaken with desire by the image of that hairy, lumpy thing, will rend their garments and run to them.

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

I emailed Patrick Healy, assistant managing editor for standards and trust at NYT, to ask why their story about a House report with new details of rape allegations against the President of the United States included neither those details, nor a single use of the word "rape." archive.is/1s9AM

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

Here is why I think there will not be a Blue Wave: The Republicans are absolute shits, but their voters will turn out for them -- abusers, shitbags, racists, whoever. Dem voters will not. Whatever issue is primary for them, if the candidate doesn't do it right, they don't turn out for them. Done.

And America continues on as it always has, with people who are safe going to brunch, while people who are vulnerable continue to be fucked. And this is an election cycle that will continue for years to come. Republicans will keep voting for whatever horrible person they are offered.

And hey, I would love to be wrong about this, that there will in fact be a Blue Wave, but I just don't see any way in hell there could be one. And Republicans will continue to capitalize on a Balkanized Dem voting base.

And without minimizing anyone's very real concerns, the reailty is that this is why Republicans will win more than any pundit is predicting, than any poll predicts. And that's fine, because America is already fucked for vulnerable people, so now it's just a matter of degree.

This is why Trump just said at his rally that he doesn’t care about high gas prices because people who own stakes in the oil and gas industry are getting rich.

I still can't believe this is real. When I first saw reports my reaction was, "The Onion is really on point with this one." I don't understand any of this. Like, zero. I watched the video, and it's a little tyke wrecking folks.

The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for not putting him in jail when they had the chance. At the very least they should have made it impossible for him to run again. The did nothing and this is where we are now.

The USA’s failure to punish Trump for Jan 6th was just an historic betrayal of global democracy. What a shameful, abject and total failure of institutions and civil society.

Americans are just going to brunch and complaining about any candidate the Dem party offers up as being fatally flawed.

The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

Correct. And people are blaming immigrants rather than looking at a country with 3 percent social housing, where the EU average is 15. Housing and salaries are both within the government's remit.

“ Portuguese police clear Lisbon housing protest camp, arrest 25 “Choosing the early hours of the morning to unleash dogs and baton-charge peaceful protesters is a political decision. It shows this government would rather repress those denouncing the housing crisis than address it”

For the record, the Dems are shitty, naive, passive and about as prepared to lead as I am to fly to Mars. But if change is incremental, having someone to whom you can say, "You need to do this for people" is better than having someone who says, "I want you lot dead." It is that simple.

Dems have turned vulnerable Americans into Charlie Brown running at the football and hoping that THIS will be the time that Lucy doesn't snatch it away. It doesn't have to be like that, it shouldn't be like that.

But at the same time, that American political system makes it necessary to trust a cabal of fuckups, to say, "Their fuckery is at least not as horrible as the other side's fuckery." That's it. Republicans equal doom. It's certain. So now what?

As a Black person, I left America because I didn't trust Dems not to fuck up. If I was trans, I would look at their record, the shitty line walking they are trying to do and say, "Fuck them." I hate that they are so shitty, and will never fault anyone for not trusting them.

Everyone carries around a computer but nobody uses their brain. America is the most willfully ignorant nation I have seen. Today, if someone said, "Michelle Obama is hiding her two-headed baby," people would say, "Really," instead of "GTFO!" Every lie easily debunked, but people choose not to.
