Proud Salopians founder. LGBTQ, 'woke' and proud. Rail worker. Cancer survivor. Ice hockey sufferer. Love motorsports. Hate AI. Real life Fat (but friendly) Controller! Say hi 👋
People often ask "why don't you want to move back closer to your job?" (in Birmingham).
It would be easier, after all, without a 90 min commute each way.
This view is from the top of Matlock Road out of Chesterfield, maybe five mins drive from our house (if that).
...this is why. 😍
Lovely, lovely - after a 12hr shift at work, what you want is your train home affected by reportable railhead conditions... We're supposed to be arrived at Derby. We are currently sliding around between Water Orton and Wilnecote. 🙃
There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere*
Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines
As a species we decided, “we will survive”
Let’s do that some more
My first film solo (ie with friends, not family) was probably Batman Forever (shush) in 1995.
My first memory of the cinema would be either Oliver & Company or The Land Before Time, with my Mom. Both 1988, I'm not sure which came first. I remember coming out wishing I was as cool as Dodger... 😂
First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people!
Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :)
Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.
Oh this would have been at the (snazzy and new) UCI Cinema, part of the then embryonic Merry Hill Shopping Centre in Brierley Hill (even though they like to say Dudley, it ain't)
There's a lot of chatter about mobile noise on trains, and I occasionally see comment that things were quieter in the past.
The 1960s wants a word.
Then, transistor radios were considered a plague, to the extent that British Railway's Western Region produced this poster.
Still annoys me more than it should that the factory sits between Navigation Road and Bailey Hall Road and yet not one person has convinced the council to rename either right of way 'Quality Street'. Tsk.
Got water in my right ear on Sunday. Cannot clear it. The pressure and discomfort since is insane. I cannot hear anything out of my right ear at all. Nights for a week from tonight is gonna be fun. 🙃
In things I didn't expect would ever happen to me, yesterday I was invited to an exclusive album launch event in Central London 😮 😳
What the heck does one wear to that? 😂 🤔
Fined or removed by who Heidi? The crew can only ask them to leave (they won't, like fare evaders don't now). The rest of the train will be DELIGHTED to be delayed whilst this happens. Removed by the chronically understaffed & underfunded BTP who don't have enough staff to respond to crimes already?
It's so frustrating when the actions of a few spoil your journey.
Our new campaign reminds passengers to use headphones on trains, and highlights the penalties.
And local leaders get new powers to tackle music, vaping and littering on buses.

The Eastgate Clock is my most detailed print yet.
It started as a commission and isn't my usual subject matter, but it became a real labour of love.
Now in my shop in a range of sizes.

Would you take a job you can’t get to?
Too many young people say no to work every year. Not because they don’t want to work.

Just had to do a run of days from Tues, culminating in a 1000-2200 yesterday followed by an 0700-1900 today, and what a set of days they have been. So sleepy! Off tomorrow but good for nothing 😴 oh well, keep on smiling! 😅
Can tell I'm old now.
It was 4°c when I left the house yesterday, so I put my hat on for the first time this autumn. I walked by no-one else wearing a hat. Many weren't even in coats, still in their jumpers, blazers, and shirts.
In my youth I wore shorts all year round. What has become of me? 😭
Morning all. iPod Nano providing the tunes on my way into work for a lovely 12hr shift today*
*yet to be proven, pending events
Hope you all have a lovely Saturday! 👌 🎶
You'll all be thrilled to know my dabble with iPhones lasted barely two weeks.
What a lovely piece of hardware, with an awfully restrictive and clunky operating system. 😳
In other news, anyone want to buy an iPhone 13 Mini which has literally just had a genuine battery replacement? 🤔😅
Definitely you should all get your mugs from Natt. They are even accommodating of bonkers custom requests for weirdos like me who like/work with Voyagers! 😂 (still going strong after almost 18 months of mileage! 💪)

Nice sunny afternoon for a short wander around this beautiful market town... Crowd and participants noticeably reduced compared to the last couple of years, mind you. Happy Pride, Shrewsbury! 💙🧡
What's up folks? Need your help. On the look out for podcasts (audio only) to expand my interests and awareness but without boring me - what do you listen to? What would you recommend? #podcasts
