We need more rich people with normal interests like "your movie sounds neat" instead of, like, white fertility rates.

When EMI pulled funding on LIFE OF BRIAN days before shooting, the Pythons turned to a fan. George Harrison put up around £3 million of his own money to make the film, simply because he wanted to see it. Eric Idle called it "the world's most expensive cinema ticket."

I was pretty disappointed when I discovered there wasn't a person names Isosceles. Like, I wanted there to have been some classical asshole in an amphitheater straight up announcing a new triangle named himself, while some beardos in chitons groaned and muttered, "Oh fuck OFF, Isosceles."

So, my 8-year old daughter had a school assignment to write about a country that was part of her ethnic background. I'm 1/4 Russian, so she chose that. This was the cover of her project.

Glowing write-up of one of the best things out there. Almost everything I listen to these days is like one degree of separation from the Beef & Dairy Network. Although, I guess watching an episode of Cheers would now also be one degree of separation from the Beef & Dairy Network.

www.avclub.com/podcast-cano... The AV club has written a really long piece about @beefanddairy.bsky.social I really love this because: 1. it's so so rare for podcasts to be written about for longer than a paragraph 2. it really understands the show 🧵

Centuries ago, many astronomical books included moving parts to help readers interpret the world around them. This biscuit recreates a diagram from Sacrobosco’s ‘De Sphaera’ (c.1550). It could be used to calculate the changing length of daylight hours through the year. 🍪

Circa 1905, the residents of Fosworth, West Virginia were plagued by the black-garbed spectre of a woman manifesting at local elections. To great outrage, the shade would cast a ballot, effectively negating one male vote, and causing unprecedented ties amongst the town's voting population of seven.

This is so embarassing.. I always thought the Gutenburg Press was just referring to the span of 1984 to 1987, when Police Academy 1 through 4, Short Circuit, and Three Men And A Baby were all released.

You are up to date.
