Just learning these are 4 separate movies and I'm losing my mind.

DiscussingFilm@discussingfilm.net

Sony is considering releasing all 4 ‘BEATLES’ biopics on the same day in April 2028. Another idea being considered is offering a 4-pack of tickets to encourage fans to buy tickets to all 4 films at once. (Source: www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...)

not sure *what* is says about our neighborhood that this was the biggest movie event in recent memory, but i feel like it definitely says *something* about us lol

finally fulfilled my life long dream of being a human music stand for careless whisper under the hennepin avenue bridge 😌

taylr@taylordahlin.com

the wedge live band of all saxophonists is called george and the michaels and they played the sax part of “careless whisper” under a bridge by the mississippi river after we biked here

A $3 @mta.info subway fare and some good Q train timing can buy you one hell of a view of the July 4th fireworks and the Brooklyn Bridge light show! Huge shoutout to the train operator for slow rolling over the Manhattan Bridge and the conductor for announcing it.

Minneapolis, damn. The sky, and the reflection on the wet streets. All the neighbors were out front talking & taking pics. I love it. #mnwx

My small rural hometown also put a side walk in about 4 years ago and it absolutely revolutionized the civics of the entire place. Literally all anyone talks about it how much most accessible and enjoyable it made things for everyone. This type of shit rules.

was having too much fun at the CPC COW yesterday and forgot to share, but look out for a “right-sized” amount of engagement on the 2050 plan, which will be minor policy updates

Hello, thank you for listening to my testimony. I'm here to speak every social justice cliche I've ever learned into this microphone and insert "but for dogs" into it.

god i love the bus. loud drunk conversations at 1am about how people are LOYAL to frontier now that spirit is gone, couple 60 year old ladies coming from the blues fest, man delivering a giant arrangement of flowers. it’s got everything. i think everyone should have to ride the bus at least weekly

so i might be in the new season of Hijack because they just turned off the power to the subway line i’m on in Chicago and we’re just sitting randomly in a tunnel

they said it’s because “an unauthorized person is on the tracks” which could be true OR could be what they say so we don’t freak out because we are being HIJACKED by Idris Elba

okay so i let the bike lobby in my head win and am actually going to buy one of these… it’ll be $150 for the one, anyone interested in the other? she’s willing to do $250 total for both, so $125 each, and i can pick up and drop off 👀

Upon instant replay, the ones going the other way were state troopers, so different. Sounds like we have a helicopter now?

Few minutes later several police vehicles sped the other way down 2nd. Unclear if it was the same vehicles as before, but no car this time, looked a little like looney tunes when they run back and forth and the chasers get confused and run the wrong way not realizing the chasee is gone

Several people are asking whether this is even legal. Due to an unfortunate loophole in MN election law, this is legal until June 26 (when absentee voting starts). It’s still a disgusting tactic, though.

Peggy Flanagan@peggyflanagan.bsky.social

Today, you might see a TV ad starring something that... kind of looks like me. My opponent's super PAC is using an AI deepfake of me to mislead voters. They can't win with the truth - so they're resorting to lies. It's disgusting. Minnesotans deserve better.

Ps, still have 2 free tickets to the Aurora today if anyone wants them

I have 2 extra free tickets to the Aurora home opener tonight! (I can’t read a calendar and thought it was a weekend when I entered a giveaway) Reply if you can use them. I’m going to sleep, but whoever responds first can have them, will DM & transfer in the morning

Every time people cite construction as a reason for small businesses closing in Uptown, I think about how the Minneapolis City Council funded a $900,000 construction hardship program that Mayor Frey did not implement. This would have been support for small businesses in Uptown.

Building more studios/1-bedroom still brings down costs for larger, “family-sized” housing That said, I also want to advocate for multi bedroom units not just for families, but for us weirdos who just like living with friends even in our 30s in this era of otherwise growing isolation

Zak Yudhishthu@zyudhishthu.bsky.social

These yuppies renting 3+ bedroom units look much like their peers in smaller units. To me, it looks a lot like roommates looking for a better deal on rent. Altogether, this data further suggests that building small units would ease pressure on existing family-sized housing.

Especially as someone who’s happily single and not trying overly hard to change that, having built in community with your closest friends has a ton of positive benefits. Lots of good research and reading on this recently, Other Significant Others comes to mind. More housing, all shapes & all sizes!

“it’s half cash half stock” i say to my landlord, giving him $7 and a partial share in a 2055 target date fund as my rent payment for the month
