You have never had to catch a transfer station and it shows.

If you're at a bus stop and all the buses in the bays are heading in the wrong direction, getting on the bus going the least wrong direction will mean you still end up farther from your destination than if you got on no buses at all.

You do not, under any circumstances, "have to hand it to him". In fact, you are obligated to never do so.

I mean, he keeps asking "What's up, Doc?" like he has a doctor to answer to for his actions... We never thought to ask who could've been responsible for this?

Topher Florence@topherflorence.bsky.social

a cartoon directed by ben "bugs" hardaway had a model sheet with a rabbit labeled [bug's bunny], and this eventually became the name "bugs bunny" so what i am saying is that technically "bugs bunny" is a term like "frankenstein's monster"

Well, damn. I guess I ~won't~ be making a pillowfort account after all.

I see we're having a debate about whether it's okay to go back to "X," the site owned by a trillionaire fascist who is currently bankrolling the GOP's midterm, throttled Ukraine's war effort, and still winkingly allows vast amounts of CSAM on his service Answer: No, what the fuck is wrong with you

To elaborate on this further; even piracy will still be supporting Harry Potter, because do major companies monitor piracy statistics. That do this to gage market interest in intellectual properties, and use the information they gain to adjust their market strategy in the future.

If you're in these states, *TODAY* is deadline to register to vote. Arizona, Arkansas Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas. Even if you think you've registered: doesn't hurt to check! And there's a lot happening across them. A thread with stakes on each. ⬇️

so BOTh of the two latest “ai” “breakthroughs” came from training on the user data of the people who actually did the work, themselves, and made the fatal error of putting novel research into their claude chats? amazing stuff. they invented auto-cannibalization of their users

I think there's a whole litany of women in Silicon Valley who, if they had been listened to and the promises of tech were at all what they claimed to be, would have burnt the entirety of the place to the ground and replaced it with Luxury Feminist Gay Space Communism already.

This was a company that I absolutely idolized, and over a decade later, I'm still grieving the fact that they weren't who I thought they were.

We now have rigorous pooled data showing that even without active restoration efforts, cleared rainforest can rebound to 75% of their former species composition and 90% of species diversity within just thirty years. #goodnews

I need to get on with drawing that zine of "Your Slop is Cringe and you Need to Stop", but I may have to staple on a copy of "Capitalism is trying to make you dumber because you'll be easier to manipulate that way" to go with it.

Yeah, I've been a tech nerd for decades but all the "AI" stuff really does feel like "Sooooo we're taking a type of computation that's actually bad at most things and putting it in a whole bunch of stuff to make it work worse because... if we don't the whole economy's going to crash or something?"

Lot of issues here but one part that sticks out in light of the almost-attacked-a-Chinese-ship story today: people with very important jobs where lives are at stake have bought the hype and outsourced their whole brains to AI. We're going to see more and more of this. www.cnn.com/2026/09/18/p...

I'll summarize this: Mamdani asked NYers to keep air conditioning at 78 degrees. A wave criticism hit online. A MSNBC broadcast pointed out the US Department of Energy recommends that 78 degree figure. Immediately after, the US Department of Energy deleted 6,000 web pages related to energy saving.

There's honestly been some pretty good news coverage tonight on TV regarding today's events. It's not a coincidence. Like half a dozen prominent Democrats finally came out this afternoon and said ICE is terrorist trash led by a secretary who should be impeached and it flipped the whole narrative.

Today ICE shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis. Horrific. Trump's reckless mass deportation policies are terrorizing American cities and endangering everyone -- immigrants and U.S. Citizens alike. The chaos and terror must end.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video. I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children. But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.
