Re: The Discourse surrounding "Choosin' Texas". I am realizing a lot of people are being snooty about it because they presumed, by the title, that the lyrics involve reasons why the narrator is deciding to choose Texas, aka they are libbing out about it. It's a heartbreak song, weenises.

Dear UHC, I have STAGE IV cancer, from which I will die without serious medical intervention. Therefore literally *anything* my doctors request you pay for is "medically necessary" you absolute MONSTERS. Especially since it turns out I may have been diagnosed incorrectly from the jump. PAY FOR IT.

Worst part of being a stage iv cancer-haver is how people get suddenly solemn and say "I'm sorry" when they hear about it like I'm already dead. I am *EXCEEDINGLY* alive, people. Cancer picked the wrong bitch.

Got so excited about having 4 bad blood tests because I'm chronically ill and something I can actually point to is a godsend. But it turns out they also don't want to do anything about my bad tests, either. I am so angry that as a cancer pt my choices are "keep subjecting yourself to this, or die."

I'm sorry to remind everyone of the existence of hte worst magazine in America, but Kansas is literally taking away trans' people's driver's licenses, and the Atlantic has decided to publish a thumbsucker about whether effeminate boys are feeling pressured to transition

Nobody reads this but I will not vote for Gavin Newsom because I am a Californian and Gavin Newsom becoming President absolutely guarantees we'll be exactly right back here after four years because nothing will change the system that enabled fascism. Without actual progressive change, we're boned.

I am left wondering what is the point of continuity of care if you like, aren’t going to pay for any of that care, exactly. (Just got a bill for $40K. I don’t even make that in a year, good luck squeezing that out of a PT karaoke host. )

Not to mention that $40K would pay for TWO years of my current insurance OOP on the ACA exchange. And they cover everything, including experimental treatments, no questions asked. Why was I forced to switch, again?

Well, she didn't. What are you doing to make it NOT a war zone where people are gunned down in the streets besides wishing it weren't true, exactly? (Note: general "you" not this particular poster "you", I've seen this sentiment a couple of times today and I'm exhausted of it.)

If Kamala had been elected Minneapolis would not have been turned into a war zone where people are gunned down in the streets.

there are people going out in the freezing cold and literally putting their lives on the line in defense of their communities and the multicultural secular society they believe in. not interested in what some online wannabe dnc consultant type wants to tell me what is and isn't possible now

Two catty little gay boys who have good reasons for hating each other are currently fighting over my friendship/attn while I am working. They are both messy little bitches and I cannot.

Had my medical insurance force-changed under me in the middle of cancer treatment. I have continuance of care, meaning I can keep seeing my doctor until April, but she's Kaiser, and I'm no longer a member so they won't let me do labs, etc even though they are covered by my new insurance. SCREAMING.

No fuckin' way. I enjoyed every second of this movie, and if you didn't I kind of think you have a piece of coal where your heart should be.

I clearly cannot with this: UNIVERSAL means nobody can "opt out", firstly. And rich people having access to the most expensive doctors and hospitals and I don't is OUR CURRENT FUCKING SYSTEM, MARK. WHAT THE EVERLIVING FUCK?

Mark Cuban@mcuban.bsky.social

Are you ok with rich people having access to the most expensive doctors and hospitals and you don't because the gov won't pay for it or they opted out of the Universal care program ? Do you think it's right for doctors and nurses to only work for what they think is a living wage ?

Seeing a primary care doc before you can see a specialist is how MOST plebe health plans work. I am so exhausted with these rich folks that don't have any idea how the world works because they're insulated from it directing policy that fucks the rest of us.

Mark Cuban@mcuban.bsky.social

For all Universal HC/Single Payer/M4A advocates. What do the biggest, expensive hospital chains do. Do they opt out and only serve the rich ? Who in the USA gov runs the program? R U ok with having to see a primary care doc before you can see a specialist ?

Also, MARK, like, I dunno, go check out how government health care works in literally any other developed country. It's not like we don't have at least 73 other countries whose systems we could emulate. Keep what we like, toss out what we don't? Like, what planet are you ON exactly?

When I was first diagnosed with stage IV cancer, my first promise to myself was that I had to outlive Dick Cheney. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. I also made some more promises about outliving other people that I fully intend to keep.

I don't have a large following but I'mma boost this anyway: I have been reading Tom Tommorrow since the Odious Bush years, and you should, too, if you would like to laugh rather than stab out your eyes in despair. kickstarter.com/projects/tomorrow/our-long-national-nightmare-by-tom-tomorrow/

Currently in the process of fighting with one of those companies that does "cute" things to try to get you to not cancel. They have no idea who they are dealing with. If this is not canceled by end of day they are gonna regret I ever subscribed. I will be SO MEAN.

I am normally not big on being mean to customer service professionals but if you work for a company I consider to be a scam in whole or in part (this kind of stuff absolutely is scammy) all bets are off.

I fled for California almost 30 years ago and I still look at pictures of certain places and I pine. But I will not set foot anywhere my trans homies are not safe and they're more concerned with teens having access to guns than they are teens having access to libraries.

Every single hed about TX state rep Collier says she’s “camping out” or “staying overnight”. She’s fucking LOCKED IN, that’s more accurately described as “being held prisoner”. Where the hell are the good journalists on this story? Please point me at them.

If "success" is ripping funding from the thing most likely to cure cancer altogether, then I would really fucking hate to see what failure looks like. I rarely say this but Chris should shut the fuck up and go back to acting. He can pretend to be a good person and I can pretend he's not a shitheel.

Chris Pratt is defending his extended family member Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and tackling entrenched partisan political beliefs: "I’d hate to be so mired in hatred for the president that any success from his administration is something I’d be having an allergic reaction to" bit.ly/45Dy2RD

Hakeem Jeffries says of Cuomo's attacks on Mamdani for living in a rent controlled apartment: "It's a legitimate issue that has been raised, and the [Mamdani] campaign is going to have to address it."

Can't post on facebook, can't get through to the imaging department, a bunch of my texts aren't going through. I feel like I'm being silenced. THIS AGGRESSION WILL NOT STAND, MAN.

This is not an abstract notion for me. My goal for cancer treatment was to stay alive long enough for this research to find me something that would cure it. If I die because of these fuckoes, in lieu of flowers, burn it all down.

This week, I’m hosting The Daily Show Tuesday through Thursday. It’s my first time hosting anything on TV. Ever. I’ve spent years writing behind the scenes, learning from truly great and talented people. Now, for three nights, I get to sit at the desk and do it myself.

I'm going to die a painful and completely preventable death much earlier than I otherwise would because some motherfucker cut cancer funding and ended clinical trials in the US, so yeah ALL my problems are because someone else is a billionaire, thanks.

I don't know much about how Lander handled the comptroller's office, but for me with Walz there is also the element of knowing how to use political capital with a very small majority and actually get left-of-center policies passed. He's got good dad energy, sure, but he also got stuff done.

I get to feel this way about both folks who are sober and folks who are battling cancer, and while I would not recommend either becoming an alcoholic or getting cancer, it's great to be able to root for folks in one very specific way, sometimes.

rax ‘levon honkers’ king@raxkingisdead.bsky.social

something nice about sobriety is how there are all these people in the world, most of whom i don’t know and many of whom i actively dislike, but i still get to root for them all in one very specific way
