Bill Maher said “fuck you” and called us bitches for being upset he dined with Trump. Then Trump tore into Maher on Truth Social calling him a lying, losery coward. That’s funny to me.

Prediction is a weak and helpless activity, the obsession of people who don't think they can change anything. It's the superstitious dread that gives rise to astrology. Far better to be a Luddite who asserts that there is more than one way to introduce a technology to a society.

Or do we let the stupidest, worst people among us lead us into the ecofascism of border walls, drone warfare, and exterminationism? That's our choice. We've had generations of being told to "vote with our wallets" instead of organizing in political, labor and social movements.

If the real priority was actually protecting girls from actual men who pose a risk to them in sports, it would make much more sense to advocate for banning male coaches and male doctors. And I’ve never, ever ever heard that suggestion, because that’s not really what this is about.

Samantha Brennan@samanthabrennan.bsky.social

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

found out that my mother in law decided she was aggressively pro trans rights literally by going, I don't know anything about this but everyone who is against trans rights is also against free school lunch, the issue I know and care a lot about, so this must be the correct way to feel about this

Please note: I am not asking for advice and don't want you to give it in this post. It is EXTREMELY FUCKED that everything you pay thousands of dollars for spends time trying to get you to upgrade and there is no way to stop it.

Holy shit that ad is unsettling. It’s not anything I haven’t thought and said about the GOP trans obsession but man that’s still creepy af.

7. The goal is to make people afraid to show up. So we show up. Naturalized citizens, your vote counts just as much as mine. If early voting is open where you live, bank your vote and bring somebody with you. If you're scared to go, holler. You won't be alone.

Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than a few years ago, according to a new analysis. “It really does look like a free fall,” Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology, said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”

Sweetwine is now mostly forgotten but shouldn't be. She was a pioneer. A hero. She would rise to be a USAF major, serve in Korea and Vietnam, but leave frustration at the discrimination that prevented her climbing higher. Abbie Sweetwine died at 87. For years the pitch against renewables was "sure, but can they be dispatchable?" India's grid operator just found 16+ companies willing to bid solar+storage to reach coal-plant reliability (90% demand fulfilment, 15-min compliance) at a cheaper price than new coal.
