Neighbour mowing his lawn fully in the dark at 7pm. I’m not saying it’s too late for the noise but there’s something about it that just seems unseemly

Normally I think pretty dimly of the "safety" hand-wringing behind mall trick-or-treating or truck-or-treat but in a town where Swan Boy lives it's actually pretty prudent.

One thing I find just incredibly sweet and romantic is Conan O'Brien meeting his wife on-camera as a part of a Late Night remote, but insisting he's never watched it because the memory is perfect in his mind

My team got absolutely goalied last night and found out after the game that the goalie who shut us down is a 20 year-old former AAA junior and prep school team player. Why is this kid down in Division 21 lmao

Finally, the league has some REAL skin in the game about the odds of a guy snapping his achilles, and they want to share it with me as well

The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more: www.nytimes.com/athletic/772...

In "Peanuts," Linus first mentioned the Great Pumpkin on October 26, 1959, creating what would go on to become an indelible cultural icon. Here’s that strip, followed by the rest of that week’s dailies:

Seahawks have been doing their best to let KC keep it close and the Chiefs just keep saying no thank you

If I was there it wouldn’t have gone down like that

About to see You Can See Everything. I have mostly seen Nathan Fielder memes and his old segments for This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Let’s go

One of the only things I miss about Twitter is that sometimes if I posted about how much I like David Krumholtz, he would see and fave it. One time he thanked me.

This isn’t goofy, he’s right

i think as a critic it’s a good idea to have at least one goofy ass stance that most people might not agree with but you apply it consistently and sincerely. for me it’s that video games shouldn’t have card-based mechanics in them

This is beautiful and pure. Brewers in four.

Wisconsin is one of two states I've lived in whose insularity leads to the kind of evolutionary cultural craziness you find in animals in the Galapagos or language in isolated settlements. This is what hath been wrought in the name of sausage

Jace accidentally stumbled into a minefield by asking me to pick colours for light switch and outlet plates. The answer is WHITE

Much to Albertans’ chagrin, they are just like Quebec: unable to secede, incredibly racist

NEW: With 100% of polls in, Alberta's 5 immigration questions earned a yes from voters, while all 4 constitutional questions failed.

We're having painters come to do part of our main floor today, so the cats are down here in the basement with me (normally they are locked out due to pee crimes/biting papa's warhammer figures). So instead of me hearing Jace's exasperated cries of "Frankie!!!" it's the other way around.

My beautiful son Seth did not win but he DID score and he played really well and that’s what matters. I’m taking him out for a McFlurry.

I told Jace I was going to buy a hot dog at the oilers game and she accused me of being a secret millionaire

Of course Alberta and Ontario, the provinces with widespread legalized online gambling, oppose it. The Alberta Government literally runs a sportsbook that's the jersey sponsor of the Oilers and Flames.

Refereeing is an incredibly difficult job and also I think it's funny when a ref union has to issue a statement saying "Yeah okay so we shouldn't have let that guy take six undribbled steps right in front of two of us. That's on us."

I still think fondly about the first Airbnb I ever did, where I rented a room in a nice Chicago couple's house. They were actors who worked in hospitality, and they gave me fun reccs, invited me to hang out with their actor friends, and made the city approachable. It's never been that good again.

Mike Drucker@mikedrucker.bsky.social

Airbnb went from a cheap way to crash in a spare bedroom or rent a vacation house for a weekend and turned into "what if hotels openly hated you and acted like they were doing you a favor by letting you give them hundreds of dollars to stay there, and also it's more expensive"

If I was president I'd make it illegal for a college to be called ______ State if the first word isn't the state name.

And he also has an adorable rabbit named Tito who he has brought to the locker room and dressed in a jersey?? That's ALSO him?

Absolutely deranged that the Dream and the WNBA gave Enes Kanter a luxury box rather than ban him from the fucking game
