It has been 550 days since Pete Ricketts’ last town hall. As a reminder, a town hall is: -Advertised in advance. -A public event that anyone can attend. -A place where the candidate takes unscreened questions.

Trans folks speaking out against the anti-trans triangulation of certain Dem politicians aren't "helping" the GOP. If those Dems loose it will be no ones fault but their own. You don't get to tell a community that you don't need them, and then blame them for not showing up for you.

Intersex is not a gender. Intersex people can be any gender - women, men, nonbinary, any gender. (There is a gender for intersex people who think their being intersex defines / majorly affects their gender: intergender.)

Amy fucking Acton LITERALLY refused to meet with trans Ohioans about her transphobic ads a couple of months ago, and members of the progress caucus resigned because of it. Stop telling me these people are interested in "working with us"

Many of you know I maintain a list of 32 Democrats who have embraced anti-trans policy or run ads against us. I am not even asking my readers to abstain from all 32. Some have improved, and some may not meet your line. But I ask my readers to draw a line and refuse to elect the worst among them.

The elections are on next Tuesday, and so much is at stake, including the soul of the Democratic Party when it comes to transgender people. I am asking you to leave a very small number of races blank in which a Democrat has embraced extreme anti-trans hate. I make my case here.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who spared a thought for my country today, who amplified information about the coup d’état attempt, and worried about Brazil’s democratic future—the world’s democratic future. We won! Women won! The Amazon won! Young people won! Democracy won! Hope won!

I just want to name that people overcame this. Even against a stacked deck, the good fight is worth it. Win or lose, it's worth it. And sometimes the good guys win.

Lula has been reelected president, Brazilian media has now called. An extraordinary comeback for the left-wing politician who trailed by 2 points in round 1 but managed to hold off Flávio Bolsonaro, the former president's son.

Josh Turek’s rank bigotry is a betrayal of American values. His stance on trans rights is to the right of West Virginia, Alabama & seven other red states’ laws. Dems are +9 on trans issues; there is no moral or political reason to take this stance except to oppress trans people. Turek is a traitor.

There are some people who claim "oh, Dems in blue states will never shift towards enacting anti-trans policy" Meanwhile Colorado is literally enacting a medical detransition protocol for trans youth on medicaid.

In case trans people and allies need another reason to abstain from voting for Turek, Matthew Yglesias is supporting him.

How it feels right now

My trans daughter had to leave Ohio because of a bill your predecessor and former supervisor, Mike DeWine, vetoed but was overruled on. Now you want me to vote for someone farther right than Mike DeWine? You're crazy.

This is garbage. It's very easy to say: "My opponent is a creep who wants to inspect your children's genitalia. I think government should mind its own fucking business." Makes me sick that Turek doesn't have the guts or the interest in fighting for the underdogs here.

Small note: Josh Turek's wording in this ad is the same language the GOP uses to include puberty blockers & hormones. This ad isn't just him agreeing with Marjorie Taylor Greene and Dan Crenshaw's bills to ban Medicare for youth trans health, it's him saying the bills didn't go far enough.
