Nothing like going to vote and find out that after years of voting in DC, you were purged from the system. Also, the polling place has no paper ballots because they’re out of ink so there’s a long line for everyone to use three machines to vote electronically. I blame Muriel!

Why does Hegseth always sound like he’s doing bad spoken word poetry? The cadence, the words and the hand movements all scream amateur spoken word night at the bar.

Why do people feel the need to loudly announce that they don’t know who Bad Bunny is… It’s not the flex they think it is.

Watching a Latino, three time Trump voter, immigration officer on the Weekend caping for Trump and mass deportations while also saying that he’s bothered by what he’s seeing in Minneapolis. Imagining the mental gymnastics this man must go through daily is making my head hurt.

Coming out and saying, “This is what happens when you let good cops be cops” when the dude’s family turned him in is wild but what else can you expect from these people.

I encourage everyone to look out for their safety and practice good internet hygiene, of course. But some of the scolding posts I've read suggest we can change the awful aftermath of a fateful event by just holding our tongues and being quiet little mice, and that isn't my experience.

a lot of people on the right are going to be pretending to be concerned about guns and political violence today. as it happens, this was just published today about how the present administration is handling gun violence in DC during a hostile occupation it claims it is doing for "safety" reasons

The 51st@51st.news

D.C. banned high-capacity magazines capable of feeding guns dozens of bullets at a time. The Trump Administration will no longer charge people for carrying them, calling the ban "unconstitutional." 51st.news/high-capacit...

A package was delivered to the wrong address, and I’m 99% sure that I know who got it, and they’re keeping it. We’re 18+ hours post-delivery and they’ve taken trash out, so they’re home. Can’t afford to just throw money away so now I’ve gotta figure out how to confront them…

On vaccines, immigration, trade, race, gay rights, crime — name your issue — the entire country is now trapped by the bigotries and delusions of a sunsetting old man whose worldview is stuck in 1986.

Schumer is acceding to the GOP’s plan to blow up D.C.’s budget by prohibiting us from spending a billion dollars *of our own money,* forcing devastating cuts to vital services out of pure spite toward our city and its residents. And he doesn’t bother defending his decision to throw us under the bus.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com The Republican budget bill is "a terrible option," Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, writes in a guest essay. But "the risk of allowing the president to take even more power via a government shutdown is a much worse path."

Melissa Harris-Perry. Tiffany Cross. Alex Wagner. Joy Reid. I'm sure there's a pattern here but I can't quite put my finger on what it could be. (/s)

Bravo to Sen. Alsobrooks for her question. “We should not be giving Black people the same vaccine schedule as Whites because their immune system is better than ours.” — RFK Jr This is the deadlier version of the racist myth that Black people feel less pain, leading to denied pain meds.

2024: Hey now. Let's be careful that we don't celebrate crimes against the rich. 1980: These ladies got high and kidnapped their boss. They were heroes and one of them got his job and did it better. There was also a hit song about corporations exploiting workers. America loved it.
