People who can't do proper persuasion resort to appeals to authority. And, as far as I can tell, few of the NPC members are people of any substance or accomplishment other than showing up to meetings and aggressively pursuing by-laws maneuvers.

As somebody who was both a National Committee member of a "major" socialist organization (when things were smaller), and an historian of the left, the LA chapter really has no moral choice here but to refuse. Call the question. Let the paper tiger revoke your charter for a few months.

Meanwhile, my chapter got the city council to first put a 1-year moratorium on new data centers and more recently, agree to set up restrictive zoning requirements. We're also organizing against Flock cameras, running a city council candidate & various local assistance programs. LA's ... different.
