I like to sew clothing and run my mouth. Blue rural’ish dot. Jersey Girl. Horses. Cats. Mom life. Very slow distance runner. Middle-aged feminist rage. Enthusiastically giving fewer f-s with every passing day. I wish I’d gone to fashion school.

The best part was that the kid wanted to learn, so I had him in my work room cutting pieces with a rotary cutter and using the BEAST™️ himself. He ended up leaving to play with the other kids after a seam or two, but that was fine bc the moms needed to talk and I needed to speed up the process.

Friend came over this afternoon so we could panic-sew a Halloween cape for her son. 2 hours from start to finish. Not my best work but he left smiling. 😂

Omg, people!! I’m not trying to kink shame but we don’t need all of your weird fetishes out here in the open. The unsolicited kink content is out of control.

This is what I needed to hear today. “it is not giving up to elect an imperfect person over a very bad one, if you are committed to keep organizing.”

I've dedicated nearly all of my free time this yr to 3 very different candidates. None of them are my ideal version of representation. I have a lot of complicated feelings. I really needed to hear this. I'm sure there are others like me. It's a shame the original post got deleted. 🙃

Genetic testing. In my 20s I had a test done that cost several thousand dollars. (My parents’ insurance covered it.) It took almost 3 months to get results because the sample had to be analyzed by hand. Now it’s all automated. Results in a matter of days and it was about $100 at last check.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

OhMyGod. No he didn’t.

Oh good, we’ve made it to the “advertising discrete partnerships with the CIA” stage of this goatfuck. I remember when Marco was supposed to be the reasonable one.

I want to scream this statistic everyday.

The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%. That’s $80 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of the working class. The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.

What type of fabric are you imagining this in? There are no suggested fabrics included with the pattern. I have a friend who is an experienced gown maker and has volunteered to answer questions. I may try to toile this once the election is over.

📌 My people were from Abruzzo (in part). Must try!

Faine Greenwood@faineg.com

Abruzzo has a traditional kind of meatless “meatball” made with eggs and pecorino, and they are VERY good - vegetarians, take note of pallotte cace e ove: www.domenicacooks.com/blog/pallott...

Yesterday’s run. I had to cut it short, but I also went out canvassing later in the day so I managed to exceed my move goal. 12 days to go til Election Day! Let’s make them count!

U.S. intelligence agencies say the failed operation at Leipzig-Halle Airport was one of the opening shots in a stepped-up campaign of sabotage and covert action against NATO countries ordered directly by Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to European officials briefed on their findings.-WSJ

This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

White House is considering targeted strikes on Kharg Island, which handles approximately 90% of Iran's oil exports. The goal is to force concessions on Tehran's nuclear program and the Strait of Hormuz before the US midterm elections on Nov. 3.

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

It’s all fun and games when a quarter of US men believe they could win a fight with a chimpanzee but then you remember they also pretend to be experts in economics, public health, and AI while holding 80% of US federal appointments.

Seconded.

If you would try to win by abandoning trans people (or any targeted group) you can save this “we need to win” talk; there is no “we.” I am about solidarity, and you have chosen anti-solidarity. You are not any “we” I recognize. You are the enemy I’m trying to defeat. Beating you is how my “we” wins.

I need a psychologist/psychiatrist to explain what this public ogling is really about. What is going on here?

Trump on Ossoff: "I don't think he's a good looking man. I actually think Mike Collins is a good looking man. And he's all man. I'm not sure about Ossoff. And I think Rick Jackson is a beautiful-looking guy."

For any friends headed to Bmore for the marathon this weekend, this looks like a super interesting post-marathon tour. One day I'm going to get down there to attend one of these.

So we fly a pride flag in our front yard in a very conservative neighborhood and it’s been there for the last few years. Someone put this in our mailbox and my goodness…

The Trouble With Harry - It's a Hitchcock film. I know Hitchcock was a total dick but he was also brilliant and the film is a real delight. It's somewhat suspenseful. More of a comedy. I highly recommend giving it a chance.
