For games I read at a young age but haven’t played (yet)… - Ironclaw/Jadeclaw (Sanguine Games) - DC Adventures (Green Ronin) - The One Ring (Cubicle 7), which was almost my first TTRPG experience. My character was a hobbit. Alas, none of these are on my shelves, they were borrowed from my dad.

My first five TTRPGs, in the order I played them: 1. D&D 5e 2. Masks 3. D&D 3.5/Pathfinder 1e 4. Call of Cthulhu 5. ...either Paranoia or Honey Heist, I'd have to check Not counting the many TTRPG books I read but haven't played (joys of growing up an avid reader with a TTRPG-loving dad).

My first five TTRPGs in the order I played them, I think (it was a long time ago) 1. D&D White Box followed by other D&D editions 2. Star Frontiers 3. Top Secret 4. Middle Earth Roleplaying 5. Call of Cthulhu

Gonna pickyback off of this to tell my friends.... I do not care if you text me at weird hours. I will see it when I see it. 🤷

Jes the human@jesthehuman.itch.io

The problem I have with staying in touch with people is I think of them between 6-8am before my day gets busy and it’s not socially acceptable to text at that time and by the time I remember it’s 6-8am the next day and cycle repeats

I still have player slots open for this!

I’ve opened a short Defy the Gods campaign on my StartPlaying! I’ll be using one of the two Adventure Seeds from Scoundrels & Scions (which one depends on decisions made during Session Zero). Biweekly on Sundays, 6 PM Eastern. startplaying.games/adventure/cm... @hecticelectron.com

I’ve asked in-thread about MA regs so check there for updates, but a reminder that, as Bull Press (which designs games to be shared freely to incarcerated people) has long noted, “most games are contraband – hardcover, contain maps, require dice — & run material that can put a target on your back”

Prison Book Program now has enough storage space for as many RPG books as people want to donate. Or any of the other frequently requested books, but RPG books are often requested, rarely donated, and most of the people I know here are RPG folks. prisonbookprogram.org/donate-books/

Post Harry Potter art, I'm blocking you without hesitation. I don't care what the excuse is, don't support monsters.

Ellory@thelocalmuffin.bsky.social

I'm horrifically disappointed to see people hopping into a harry potter art trend after all the heinous garbage jk rowling has done to multiple communities Not so friendly reminder that she's using this as free advertising and you ARE supporting her indirectly for this.

15 years ago when Apocalypse World was new and people were beginning to understand and work with it, it was seductive to look at "acting under fire" and see, not one basic move of several, but the template underlying all the game's moves. Like @kierongillen.bsky.social 's classic gag:

Great chance to post my all-time favorite headline

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

Share the last 4 TTRPGs you played and expose your gaming habits D&D 5e (2014) Lancer Shadowdark Vaesen If this was TTRPGs run instead of played, the list would be quite different.

Gareth Hanrahan@mytholder.bsky.social

Share the last 4 TTRPGs you played and expose your gaming habits (Or don't. I'm not a cop). Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective* Mythic Bastionland Merryshire Detective Club Trail of Cthulhu *: if we eliminate this as being more of a board game, then, uh, Sleepaway I think.

Information in TTRPGs and AP is hard enough to gather and parse without vibe-coded slop. I’m just very tired. I want folks who are doing good work drawing on their professional skills and expertise, without fanfare, to have the resources to do it right.

Rachel Knight reposted

I don’t normally do this: If you’re an archivist or metadata sicko who is doing working to preserve/collect/organize TTRPG materials and/or Actual Play & you’ll be at PAXU, let me know. If there’s already something brewing I don’t need to be involved unless it’s useful. But it needs to be there.

100%. For those unfamiliar, Van Halen had a line in their rider that essentially said “no brown M&Ms.” It was a way to see if the promoter had actually read the contract. They had a shitload of gear to tour with, so if they’re skipping one thing, it’s guaranteed they’re skipping something essential.

BOO! Paddon 🎃@benpaddon.net

An AI flyer is a brown M&M test. If your event or business is cutting corners by using an AI flyer, where else are you cutting corners? What else are you cheating out on? Why should I be bothered to go somewhere you couldn't be bothered to promote with a little of your own personality?

Amen. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s saved me from con crud and worse. Especially this year - I went to Gen Con and didn’t even have sniffles when I got home, so I’d consider that a win.

Seanan McGuire@seananmcguire.bsky.social

Consistently masking at conventions is unpleasant, uncomfortable, and sometimes chafes my ears. But as I have not added severe illness to this year's carousel of exhaustion, I am glad to continue doing it, and continue to recommend it to my peers.

I survived this year’s cons through the power of a KN-95 mask and Loop earplugs. (Said earplugs and their lanyard chain thing are neon green because that color was on sale.) Also one of those wired mics used by tour guides, courtesy of @mystfyre.bsky.social, so I could GM masked and still be heard.

Children are people. When you have a kid, you make a person, and that person is not going to follow a script. If you think your kid is one thing and they're actually another, your job as a parent is to support them and set them up for success, not punish them for wanting different pronouns.

I keep hearing about this in the @alagamert.bsky.social Discord - excited to see more news!

It was lovely to speak to Marisa and Colin with the Digital Games in Libraries (soe.uncg.edu/rdi/dgil/) project about Ludolio. Check out theirinterview with @marcuscarter.com here - digitalgamesinlibraries.substack.com/p/the-aussie...

#RPGaDAY2026 Day 31: Edge, Ability, Fair of Face - Why does a character think they have an edge? Beywell (human wizard) thinks that all the books she’s read means she’ll understand things in the real world! She’s not quite correct. As shown when she tried speaking Dwarvish the first time.

#RPGaDAY2026 Day 30: Pride, Emotion, Blessed - A game event that you are still proud of A player at my final Paranoia table of Origins 2026 hacked a display to show “a Pre-Whoops advertisement”. The looks on their faces when I described “a red background with a curved yellow M”? Priceless.
