Jeff Bezos' Washington Post editorial board endorsed Pam Bondi as a "qualified" and "serious" pick for Attorney General. Nowhere in the endorsement did they mention that she's a former Amazon lobbyist. Another reminder that billionaire control of our media is a threat to democracy.

The Israeli government has displaced a total of 6 million people from their homes. (3 million Iran, 2 million Gaza, 1 million Lebanon). 6 million people. The equivalent of the entire population of Maryland displaced from their homes. By one government.

In the early 1930s the SA was roughing people up, creating chaos in neighborhoods, seeking to terrorize with the occasional killing. By the late 1930s it had been supplanted by the SS, which was much better trained.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

The president should be impeached and convicted, as should everyone responsible for these outrages. ICE should be disbanded. So should the Department of Homeland Security. And the people who have killed should be investigated and brought before judges and juries.

We have to see the logic of the killings as well as the killings themselves. The horror is a truth in itself. But it is also a sign of a political logic, one known from the totalitarian regimes of the twentieth century. snyder.substack.com/p/lies-and-l...

I have been taking surfing lessons. Still in the beginner kook trenches, but celebrating my last time on a foam board 😎 Graduating to a hard top next session. It’s fun to learn new things! Even if you look like a goober at the beginning. 🏄🏽‍♀️

1/ I’m Till Eckert, a ProPublica reporter. For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been going to the same NY immigration courthouse. Nearly every time, I see ICE agents arresting immigrants. Today, a woman was slammed to the ground after begging officials not to take her husband away. Thread 👇

2/ I stayed by Monica Moreta-Galarza, who was seeking asylum with her family, until she was discharged from the hospital. “Over [in Ecuador], they beat us there too. I didn’t think I’d come here to the United States and the same thing would happen to me,” she said in Spanish.

It's not fascist to call fascists fascist. It's not "dehumanizing" to say that terrorizing entire groups of people - which ICE does - is evil. No executive order can change these facts. However, people *can* mess things up for fascists by standing up for community and truth. Like this.

I think a lot of Democrats and left-of-center folks believe he's talking about fringe "antifa" groups in the Pacific Northwest... as opposed to how broad the language really is. This could be liberal think tanks, ActBlue, Soros Foundation... or even the League of Women Voters or NAACP.
