What am I but a warped, frustrated young man?

It speaks grimly to the state of healthcare in this country that I’m having a medical test next month and my follow up to discuss results with the doctor isn’t untilMay.

I’m not here to defend FDR, he was a President and did terrible things, but wow, is his presidential museum full of some banger quotes that would be too radical for most of the modern day elected left.

If you’re on the fence about getting knee injections, do it. I had an especially difficult time getting them (passed out- twice, needed a cane for a couple days, extremely uncomfortable all around) and a week out, it is already worth it. I’m getting out of chairs more easily than I have in years!

You’ve gotta use AI because it’s the future. But also it’ll take your job. But also it’ll create a paradise on earth and solve most of our problems. But also it’ll end humanity soon. But also you’ll get left behind if you don’t use it right now.

Three month zucchini update: it got got by squash vine borers. But I sure did get a lot of zucchini while it lasted, so no hard feelings.

Between the dehydrator and canning, I’m caught up on tomatoes.

When you have an abundance of very ripe tomatoes but no energy to deal with them on account of being sick, the dehydrator is your friend. All you gotta do is slice them up, spread them out, and plug it in.

Briefly dreaming of quitting my job to become a tomato farmer.

It was a banner day in the garden, between my first Very Large Tomato (1 lb 5.4 oz) finally starting to ripen and a monarch visitor to my milkweed!

On the one hand, I wasted a bunch of vinegar and sugar by not reading a recipe carefully and then stuck said hand in a vat of boiling water (do not recommend!), but on the hand, I now have canned bread and butter pickles (grew the cukes myself!) and pickled red onions.

What we discovered: Police brushed off rapes. Prosecutors bungled confessions or were defeated at trial. Judges overlooked irregularities. And Syracuse University seemed more interested in suppressing news of a rape epidemic than solving it.

The Urquhart Test, if you will.

I've been catching up on my news tracker, and you could throw out all the rest of my data and get an eerily accurate sense for whether a news organization's editorial tone is open-minded or hostile towards the trans community based purely on whether the word cisgender ever appears in a news item.

Exciting garden developments this week include a bevy of cukes that should be pickable within the week, a little baby cantaloupe, three artichokes, and an unplanned peanut. Thanks, squirrels!
