Despite each season of Edgerunners involving wholly different narratives, I do feel I should give the first season a rewatch before I start discussing my feelings on its season. I will say the opening visual and its song have really grown on me as I've been captured by its cast.

Or perhaps the more operative angle I should shoot for is, how do I engage someone without said party needing to share the wider discourse of a subject? I've been around the block, I know some series or even characters can have a wide range of opinions about em.

But honestly when I ask for someone's thoughts, I appreciate hearing -them-. I'm not especially inclined on the wider narrative since typically its easy for me to get lost on how many sharks people jump through to make their conclusions.

It always comes back to this for me; if AI was so good, such a disclosure would be a selling point. If AI was everything these slop jockeys said it was, they should be proud to let people know their game was AI made. But the proof is in the pudding, and they can't stand that people don't want it.

I can't believe he's still at it, it's been days

I naturally avoid a lot of wider fandom spaces, so I'm often very out of the loop on what ~general populace~ has to say about a work, why people argue that people should straight up say that things aren't for them. So obviously -my- experience with media differs greatly from the norm.

THE BOYS vs MY MEN has been a hotly debated contest in my heart for favorite Flowery line read ever since I discovered there were JP exclusive voice clips.

The more I think about Dragon Ball, ironically, the more I'm annoyed with the Abridged series and its memes doing irreparable damage to the OG work. Sorry I find "Goku is a bad father" jokes annoying AF actually.

Every so often I think about getting into being a video essayist. The problem is I don't have any confidence in my actual voice, so I wonder if it'd be best for me to hire someone to do all the yapping for me instead, Or suck it up and just train my voice to be what I require it to be.

The Problem With Apu was a pretty balanced and nuanced (and honestly tame) look at how cultural representation in television can leave an impact on people’s lives and what to do about it, so of course it’s still characterized by angry people online as a whiny temper tantrum from the PC police

HAPPY North American Release Date of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance! PoR came out 21 years ago and I've fallen in love with it all over again!!!! Thank you for inspiring me!!

After a convo with a friend, I suddenly realize the way fans view media is like those brains from Futurama - they simply want All The Lore and eschew any deeper reading that may be gleaned from the works they examine. Just ask how disappointed I am in wanting to chatter about Jax's psychology.

"why would anyone ever think refs are cheating? no one says that." True, no one really says that. I think it comes from a deeper artistic anxiety that is built up from experiences and observations growing up that are related to, but not literally -about-, using reference.

Whenever I think about Gatekeeper and recently Tsubasa winning CYL in Fire Emblem Heroes, I keep thinking "Maybe the fandom has -too much- influence". I could genuinely see (Flame lord here) getting cucked next year for some random meme that got added into the pull. This is a real possibility.

A friend gifted me Ghost Trick last year for my bday. I haven't played it in years, but one of my close buddies never experienced the game before. Earlier last year I streamed my replay for her, was a very delightful time!

Glad to be recovering from shit like head injuries and burnout enough to get back to drawin my wonderful lil rabbit again

For the past year I've been reading Sakamoto Days much more casually. Being told "THIS IS THE FINAL ARC" had me less enthusiastic. I do enjoy the send offs for each character, but knowing it'll come to a close still hangs over my head. I love that last week however has likely my favorite bit.

Given how much control reactionaries have over general opinion, I feel more inclined than ever to express either positive or at least be more willing to critique people's thoughts. Its too easy for my dislike of something to turn into finding a strange hatemob I want very little to do with.

You can buy a huge media conglomerate with money you don't have using leveraged debt you'll never pay off and then immediately start firing its workers, but people will still say that capitalism is compatible with democracy and is capable of "reform" or "regulation"

Its fascinating seeing people complain about the Switch 2 is an expensive DLC console to play the current Pokemon titles. I get the sentiment of course, though I disagree with the framing.

Console generations have always attempted to replace the old. We love backwards compatibility yes, but rather than the new console running something better, its that the developers are lazy/greedy. That said, it does express the beauty that is gaming PC ownership.
