Hi, do you bike with kids on a cargo/family bike in the winter? I’d love to update my winter bike clothing guide to mention this but don’t have kids, so I’m soliciting help! Please let me know if you’d be willing to provide some perspective/experience and I’m happy to credit you on the guide.

paging anyone on calgary's city council that has the courage to expand our city's cycletrack network #yyccc

what is holding back wider adoption of e-bikes is the fact that road networks in most n. american cities are just too scary for normies no wayfinding. disconnected wheeling networks. distracted drivers. too high speed limits all of it adds up to locking people into car dependency

Me when I ask for safer infrastructure for children to get to school and instead get a lecture on how to encourage more kids to bike.

Maybe Alberta’s streets aren’t just for driving fast, and parking private property? Maybe they’re also for kids and parents to feel safe moving about where they live and not forced to use a vehicle? #Calgary #Edmonton #yycBike #yegBike

If you're out there today ride safe. If you're delivering food by bike and need a N95 mask, we got a ton of free ones, so come by the Biking Lawyer LLP office at 158 Sterling Rd. Suite 703. This applies to all our @thebikebrigade friends out delivering food to our neighbours in need today too!

If anyone is wondering around Crescent Heights on Saturday, the girls are doing a lemonade stand #yycbike

That moment when you see a mangled bicycle and the road you regularly ride is closed. Hoping everyone is ok.

We had over 100 people (60+ kids) join us for Bike Bus on Wednesday morning, including the Mayor & @mykeatkinson. This safer experience for our kids wouldn't be possible without the immense effort from volunteers. We want safer streets! Child friendly urban planning benefits everyone!

No single option is the best for all people, at all times. Sometimes I bike. Sometimes I take the train or bus. Sometimes I drive. There's no thriving city of two million people that succeeds with only one way of getting around. Calgarians need to be able to choose what works best for their family.

So nice to see Calgary's mayor laying out clearly why transport choice matters and why world class cities need to provide options for every citizen. #yycbike #transportchoice

#yycbike is there a calendar of the bike events this month? Usually I see more details come through my inbox about all the community events.

I desperately wish I caught a video - the crows on my street have joined the war on cars. This morning I watched a crow drop rocks from a tree and cackle like a tiny goth supervillain when a windshield spiderwebbed on impact. It was fascinating to watch.

One of the oddest things to me is adults driving for ice on a warm, sunny day and then sitting in their idling vehicle for 20 minutes while you eat your double scoop in your cars AC.

Our first time checking out the Sheep River today. These two did great- even twin A who only likes going down hill and was very incredibly angry at the mountains for all being uphill. We saw no sheep, 5 deer, a burrowing owl (!!!), a Great Horned owl and one tick 😬. We also dodged 16 piles of 💩

In 24 hours, on a quiet two-block stretch with four-way stops at each intersection, my children, on their bikes, had a driver honk at them the entire way, and another pass so close they could have reached out and touched the car. All for the sake of rushing to the next 4 way stop.

When you have an irresponsible parent who doesn’t pack gloves for our bike ride, the children get to stop at fun cafes to warm their little fingers.

What age did you let your kids start biking places alone? Destinations would be within 1 km of our home.

Taking all my parenting advice from Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Unedited hip hop and F-bombs at breakfast? 100% ok. Being mean to your sister? Absolutely not.

Fuck..our garage got robbed last night - my winter bike, my regular ride, Will's road bike, and our daughter's bike all gone. Will get details up and reports to police and bike index later @ratliw

Teaching my kids reminds me how incredible teachers are. We’ve dropped the provincially released strike curriculum and are learning to sew instead—so fair warning: handmade gifts for everyone this Christmas! #yyc

Google Maps needs a “least aggressive” route option. I’m not afraid of driving or speed, but there are certain intersections I avoid because people aggressive assholes.

“I always got the flu vaccine, for like years and years I got poked and never once got the flu so why would I continue to get the flu vaccine? I don’t think I’m at risk” An actual conversation i overheard today.

We made it out for one last 2025 BVP ride. The 7s (they are 7 now!!) did spectacular as always and used their birthday money to purchase Johnston Canyon goats. 6 hours, 50 km, a few tears, lots of smiles, and now an exhausted family.

Somehow we have gone from toddlers riding in the urban arrow to independent riders and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I am so proud of how independent these two are and I love all that them riding brings but I am still struggling with the fact that they don’t want to ride in the UA anymore.

It’s ok to kill people with your car as long as you stick around and let the police know you are the one who did it. You won’t be in trouble or anything, the police just need a name to attach to the report.

Sorry, not sorry, but if you hit someone with your car and injure or in this case, kill them, you should be charged whether you fled the scene or not. Blaming a shadow caused by a tree is peak #motornormativity. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/... #roadsafety
