BLANKSWORD has given me the opportunity to not only become a better writer, but also a better gamedev in general. Being on this team teaches me something new every day -- a little programming, marketing, audio, and even spriting!
Help us give you the best version of this game. We're almost there!

tbh cognitive decay is one of the scariest parts of ai
we do all kinds of things that actively atrophy the mind, like scrolling tiktok endlessly for hours, etc... but i dunno, it feels more insidious to have a computer manufacture your choices and opinions so you dont need to have any
it's not "this woman is stupid", it's "i have become so reliant on computer that i couldnt independently describe my own child". many smart people, even, fall into the trappings of convenience, especially when we're all overworked and tired
Really great overview of the series (beware spoilers). It's a much kinder read on ZTD than I would have written, but I can appreciate what they're getting at.

I just can't get behind "that guy right out of frame!" being a meaningful plot twist. Same criticism I have of Ai:Nirvana... the "twist" is just "I have hidden something offscreen that changes nothing materially, but you have to believe it does". I love Uchikoshi's work, but that still bugs me
While I have had many excellent pitches I am severely lacking in pitches from non-white people and I am very aware of that. I really really really want to elevate some non-white voices with this so I urge you to apply. Please please please.
📣Calling all women and femme writers📣
I am looking to commission around 10 heartfelt essays surrounding video game criticism. If this sounds like something you are down to do them read on and I urge you to apply.

Hey everyone! MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!
I'm currently looking for a Transfem voice actress to do some (*PAID*) work for a major project I'm working on right now. If you'd like to audition, please reach out to me on my Discord "lukevaughn" for more details! Thanks!
btw bimbo is free but you can pay a little to get some bonus features (like one-click upload to Neocities and some other hosting providers)
also paying for it helps support me, a trans mother who cannot find consistent paid work in this hell economy
seeing an uptick in ppl being like “i wanna make a blog but fuck” and so i feel like it’s a good time to plug my cool website building tool for ppl who don’t care to learn a whole lot about building a website
even has a blog template. just get right to it iznaut.itch.io/bimbo
it's 2030. there is one american game job. the game is a result of the fortnite-roblox merger. they added gatchas and ads exclusively for prediction market platforms. while you work on it, jared kushner and a random c-suite with at least 3 sexual assault cases take turns yelling at you.
im happy for others who might be eligible, but it is a bummer to be excluded from every educational games oppprtunity because i'm a college dropout over 30 :')
can companies start doing Second Chance Internships or something. adopt my skrunkly, stray-dog ass
the internship opportunities are few and far between, and im always happy for rising undergrads who can get a foothold in this hell industry
but man do i wish i could go back in time and do one of these
Applications for Insomniac's summer intern program are now live (including for a story intern)! Come get direct hands-on experience working alongside our devs on the (imo) pretty exciting stuff we're making now! insomniac.games/careers/
steam should have tipping. it should have tipping. there should be tipping on steam. on steam, you should be able to tip the developer. the tip money should go straight to the developers who worked on the game and not the publishers or valve. they should make it so that on steam, you can give a tip
Why do we keep on doing this? Praising a 'small core team' for a game with 1100+ people in the credits is incredibly misleading.
This PR narrative hurts, hides the massive shadow workforce of outsourced developers and testers, and sets impossible standards for actual indie teams.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer was made by a core team of 75 people. "What we wanted to do was keep that core small, smaller than perhaps you might have done in the past, and scale capacity and capability with what we call distributed development." https://bit.ly/4hT02qg

Trans people need us. Let's show up for Austin!
Last year, we helped @distributeaid.org raise $15,000 for direct trans mutual aid, funding hundreds of years of HRT supplies delivered straight to our community. Donate $20 for $400 worth of RPGs and help us do it again!

i fantasize every day lately about starting a co-op game studio for like 5 people and we make games that net us enough to keep making them
but. alas. money

the first game i worked on extensively, "An Outcry", is on sale at a low 50% off with the Steam autumn sale!
it's got those autumn-night colors, takes place in october, and has some jack-o-lantern type birds!
(don't worry about the birds.)

I have never made a game with Bitsy before, but my favorite game that used it is called Novena. It's very elegant and moving in its simplicity. One day I'd like to give the engine a try.
