The loopholes never end. A stock split deal keeps Zuck in California while dodging the wealth tax. Meanwhile the rest of us can't just restructure our finances to avoid taxes.

Important research for these times. Infants typically do not receive measles vax until 1 year. This study shows that any protection they have from their mother wanes by 6 months, leaving them vulnerable. With measles cases surging–this year already has double the cases of last–this is a nightmare.

Measles study in infants at #IDweek; maternal measles antibodies found in newborns, but wanes below neutralizing levels (ie, protection) by 6 months. Since kids get 1st MMR at 1 year, highly vulnerable from 6-12 months. Not a huge deal if measles rare. Terrifying if measles rampant (like now) 😳

The irony here is hard to miss. Rural counties that backed Trump got hit hardest by these USPS delays. Cost-cutting measures shouldn't come at the expense of vote by mail reliability. Everyone's ballot should count regardless of where they live.

NEW: A ProPublica data analysis shows that delays resulting from USPS’ cost-cutting measures have endangered the validity of ballots mailed in rural areas. Counties that voted for Trump in 2024 have been most affected.

This is just gut wrenching to read. I did not realize measles could do that much damage to healthy kids. Two babies gone is awful. Thinking of those families and hoping people take this way more seriously.

NBC News@nbcnews.com

Two babies died. An 18-year-old with measles died from a rare complication that caused inflammation in the brain. At least six infants have been born infected with measles. There’s no way to predict which kids will get hit hardest.

At least 79 kids have been harmed by tear gas or pepper spray during Trump’s immigration crackdown. In most cases, they were going about their days when officers shot chemical munitions near their homes and schools and into their cars. (Published May)

Count me in. Most of us would get fired immediately if we showed up as little as they do. It really feels like they spend more time on recess than doing actual work. Clocking in ought to be mandatory for them too.

Through the end of August 2026, the House was in session for roughly 383 hours total. That’s an average of about 48 hours per month. Their average monthly floor time is well below the 80-hour monthly threshold the same Congress imposed on Medicaid recipients.

As Xi Jinping arrives in the U.S. this week for a state visit, China’s advances in A.I. will be in the air. What will be less discussed is that he is also the leader of an economy in its worst shape in decades. The two facts are related.

Walking out of a congressional interview and then just not showing up for the next one. Must be nice to treat subpoenas like optional meetings. If anyone else pulled that we'd already be in cuffs. Rules really do depend on your bank account.

LMAO for the third time in 24 hours Trump is talking about how ugly Ken Paxton is (wait for the camera cut to Paxton)

YouTube isn't a demotion, it's where everyone actually watches stuff now. FCC scared of a late night interview is wild. Good on Kimmel for posting it anyway. I'll be watching.
