Lil Wayne is a goat. Birthed an era of rappers. But his primary impact was normalizing ‘aura’ and chasing punch lines instead of staying on theme or topic. He inadvertently helped end the inherent substance that comes with cogent, focused rhymes.

I can’t wait to see this

In 1972, a group of Harlem Renaissance cultural icons gathered at Duke Ellington's house. The afternoon was captured on 16mm film by William Greaves, but the footage remained unedited in a vault for 50 years until David Greaves restored his father's project, releasing the documentary it 2026.

Tossing bricks from one worker to the next looks easy until you see the spin. A slight twist in the air lands each 2 to 3 kg brick flat in the catcher's hands, several a minute.

Cats don't lap water, they build a tiny liquid column with their tongue and snap their mouth shut just before it falls. Pigeons can even sip like they're using a straw.

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

If you were a broke grown up in the 90s you watched the Simpsons on syndication and know most of the first 20 seasons by heart. You definitely did not have cable. That shit was wayyy too expensive

If you could put irony on a billboard, it would be this thread. These people are exhausting, even when they’re proving your point with every word lol

There are differences but there are also similarities, pretentious asshole

We’re doomed because this country doesn’t teach people real history. White people haven’t been taught about chattel slavery or the unbroken line from then til now. And because no one teaches white people, they, the largest voting block, keeps voting for people who hurt them and us

Martin Luther King was much more successful than Malcolm X for example. Before that, there was no need for a bloody civil war in most countries that abolished slavery. Just votes. Independence can also be bloodless. Gandhi in India, Walesa in Poland, Mandela in South Africa. The list is long.

My arms have gotten so skinny I’m built like on of those men in insta videos who jumps out the car, weird “why oughtta” guard up, ready to fight and stumbles and gets knocked out.

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

Mary Gibbs was about two when she voiced Boo in Monsters, Inc. Too young for a script, she was recorded while playing, and Pixar built the scenes around her real giggles.

Corvids are widely considered some of the smartest animals on Earth, with cognitive abilities that rival those of great apes and young human children. Their problem-solving skills, use of tools, make them standout subjects in animal intelligence research. Original post

The new powers-that-be in Hollywood really really need to take a step back from trying to create only 4-quadrant successes. You will never allow for the next breakout hit with blinders on. Risk has to be part of the business model. It just does.

Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

The Panthers convinced whitemen w confederate hats the people holding them back because they are blue collar, hold us back because we’re Black. Those same people shut down unity during Reconstruction and later destroyed the Black Panthers. Now they control social media which makes unity impossible
