must be incredibly frustrating and disheartening to have federal funding that was promised to you for important work suddenly and arbitrarily ripped away

Rand Paul: "The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you... I have a trade deficit with my grocery store"

Dave Brat, a Senior VP at Liberty University, said today on a local news interview that the tariffs are following “reciprocity,” which he said is the Golden Rule: “whatever you do to us, we’re gonna do to you.”
Once again, the change in the stock market isn't a surprise. None of this is a surprise. Try not to let the coverage freak you out, you've already started mourning this. Deep breaths.
Elon Musk falsely accused prominent lawyer and CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen of leading a “crime family” after he discovered a woman with the same last name who worked for an organization that accepted funds from USAID.
The only problem? The woman, Tamar Eisen, is of no relation to Norm Eisen.
Andrew Feinberg was a godsend in the press conference today, and thats reason enough, but please go follow him because he has the most hilarious cover photo of his dogs and I think he's my new favorite

Last week, DOGE posted an online “wall of receipts,” celebrating how much it had saved by canceling federal contracts. Now it has deleted all of the 5 biggest “savings” on that original list, after NYT and other outlets pointed out errors. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/25/u...

Okay what is going on here. Are the accounts at a private banking entity? Does the federal government have direct debit permission set up? So many questions as to how Treasury instructed this payment. (Via NY Post’s Craig McCarthy)
Somebody wrote “Silicon Valley built the world”.
No. No you didn’t.
The world was here before big tech, and we are currently figuring out how to manage the mess made by hyper connectivity. ->
More effective frame: DOGE is creating so much waste by not using tools we already have and by doing things out of order. There was so much time to appropriate funds for the fork offer but they didn't do it because they don't know how. Waste.
Feeding the justification for the things they are trying to close are just feeding their narrative that the left wants waste to continue. They don't care about the merits of the programs because of the propaganda they are seeing.
I cannot tell you fucking dumb these statements are.
The US govt spends a ton on contractors (including NGOs) to do stuff. Anything deemed not inherently governmental *by law* is legally required to be outsourced (see Circular A-76). This is how we have structured out govt forever!
