Announcement: SMBC has achieved AGI internally. We will not be releasing our model to the public, but are working closely with experts in jokes about clown-sex and philosophy. We ran the model on the SMBC corpus and it discovered 17 zero-day overly-elaborate boner gags.

i can't help but note, as i listen to the NASA livestream, that all the most meaningful parts of the artemis mission are the human ones. nothing artificial can top organic intelligence, and all that blooms from our connections.

This tedious office shit is starting to age me. There's an email chain with the subject "Incubator Doors" and I thought "I hardly know her!" And then gave an exasperated sigh at my own pun I need to rekindle my sense of whimsy

I am currently working on a LoTR eat-along and I have found a way to make (or at least represent) everything except: -Orc Blood -Hobbit Finger Would love suggestions

Side note how insane is it that Gimli can identify orc blood by taste?? What the hell is going on with orc body chemistry that makes it so distinctive? How much has he tasted? Does it get in his mouth while he's fighting? Has he been mauling them like a dog?

Well I've done less work than I wanted today but more importantly I made a pivot table of each appearance of food in the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition for an upcoming watch party FYI It's mostly bread, beer, and cheese

Quote posting this so I'm not ranting in some stranger's comments: Red Rising needs an animated adaptation but the author is stuck on the idea of a live action series. The visuals in these books are insanely cool but would require a Star Wars level budget to render in live action.

every single YA book series TV show adaptation would be better off being animated instead of having to stretch a live action budget and work around their child actors aging

I blame GoT, which made an already rich author so Obscenely Wealthy that he got to give up novels entirely and just does whatever he wants. Now everybody else is chasing that same format hoping for the same success It's the same effect that Henry Porter had on book adaptation
