Many comments on the great election victories in Brazil and Serbia state that the authorian right is in decline or that voters have rejected far-right authoritarianism. That is a wrong interpretation of what happened. Progressive movements mobilized and beat the authoritarian right. That's different

Many media have been far too careful in their phrasing, saying that Trump is "squeezing Ukraine" or putting pressure on it. We all need to do the responsible thing and call it what it is: Trump is not trying to reach a deal — he is trying to "end the war" by simply helping Russia win.

Koppen als ‘extreemrechts protest loopt uit de hand’ veronderstellen dat een extreemrechts protest geweldloos kan. Extreemrechts is per definitie gewelddadig en een vreedzaam extreemrechts protest bestaat dus niet. Zulke protesten lopen niet uit de hand. Dit hoort bij extreemrechts.

One answer is differentiated integration. Sounds technical, but isn’t. Schengen started with handful of countries outside the EU framework. Not every EU country uses the euro. Defence already involves different groups of countries. Europe has rarely required everyone to move at same speed. 5/10
