I was honored to attend this evenings pedestrian safety walk and candlelight vigil in remembrance of those we have lost to traffic violence. I pledge to never stop working to make our streets in Rockville safer!

Got thoughts on sidewalks, crosswalks, or bike lanes in Rockville? Come tell me in person. I'm joining CM Jackson and Mayor Ashton for a Community Listening Session on Pedestrian Issues. 📅 Fri, Sept 18 | 7 PM 📍 Twinbrook Community Rec Center Annex #RockvilleMD bit.ly/4iKaFh9

What a gross day. First it was the smoke. The heat and humidity come next. NWS has issued a heat advisory for areas along/east of I-95 as temps poised to surge into 90s along w/ oppressive humidity. Heat indexes could hit 105. Storms later. Updated forecast at capitalweather.com

This smoke event in DC is worse than June 2023 in some ways, meaning it's right there with worst on record. DC has now 36+ hours of observed smoke... the longest period on record. Read our full analysis of this event, and what is making it stand out: www.capitalweather.com/this-smoke-o...

capitalweather.comThis smoke outbreak ranks with the worst in modern DC historyWith 36 hours and counting of smoke in DC and air quality peaking at code purple or worse, this event rivaled — and in some ways exceeded — the historic smoke outbreaks of 2023.

The timing of this kind of press is intentional. How are they going to make these games when Bethesda and Obsidian collectively laid off hundreds? Don’t fall for it.

NEW: Bethesda has announced a slew of new Fallout games, including Fallout 5 and Fallout 3 + New Vegas remasters. The company also confirmed my scoop last week that it is working with Obsidian on a Fallout game. I spoke to Todd Howard about the roadmap: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

When you see a historical marker to a suburban development in the 1950s, you wonder, did they leave out the part about the restrictive covenant? I checked: the pool at the Levittown-inspired Twinbrook in Rockville, Md., was built 6 years after such a covenant was pulled. Whew.

It was a hot day, but it was so cool to be part of the unveiling of the Twinbrook Pool historical marker! It is a remarkable example of the DIY Twinbrook spirit that continues even now. Always grateful for the support of Mayor Ashton to capture all of our #Rockville history.

In Maryland, a law to stop “super speeders” through technology goes into effect Oct. 1. A similar law is already in effect in Virginia, where MCM spoke with Montgomery County Police Lt. Patrick Kepp and Olney resident Mindy Badin. https://bit.ly/4vAsDFY

Microsoft is laying off 4,800 workers today. Its CEO made $96.5M in 2025, a 22% increase from the previous year. Microsoft made $101B in net income last year — and raked in up to $12.5B in tax breaks from Trump's Big Ugly Bill. This is what a rigged system looks like.

REVERSE THE LAYOFFS

I was proud to attend the ZeniMax protest this afternoon, at their headquarters in Rockville. I stand with the workers who were layed off, calling on Microsoft to do the right thing: reverse the layoffs and support your game developers. #SaveOurDevs #OneBGS #ZeniMaxWorkersUnited #RockvilleMD

I’m very proud that Rockville is the home of the U.S. Adaptive Open, a showcase of the best golfers that use various assistive devices and other adaptations in order to play. Technology to aid individuals with disabilities has advanced at a rapid pace: it’s great to see tech in action to play golf!

Happy 250th 4th of July, Rockville! Please, stay safe and hydrated today. If you are planning to attend the fireworks tonight at Mattie Stepanek Park, bring a cooler with water and wear light, loose fitting clothes. It is going to be a very, very hot one. 🌡️ ☀️

I endorsed Jud Ashman for County Council because he is a proven thoughtful leader who will do what is best for all of Rockville. I’m proud to stand with him, and his positive campaign on the issues that matter most.

He has a positive vision for real policies grounded in reality, to address all our current crises: housing affordability, public schools’ maintenance, and the shrinking County revenue. We need real leadership, and I feel strongly that Jud will bring it to the County Council’s 3rd District.

We are going to savor this one. Our client, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, is freed of these outrageous, vindictive charges. It’s a good day.
