More fascist mythmaking by the VP.

Sherrilyn Ifill@sifill.bsky.social

This is how white supremacist narratives work. This claim has been litigated repeatedly and proven to be NOT TRUE. But they “feel it.” You can’t disprove it. The Lost Cause. Reverse Discrimination. Welfare Queens. The whole thing survives on myths. www.yahoo.com/news/vice-pr...

Cato has published my comprehensive review of the ~240 Venezuelans the US government renditioned 2 months ago to Salvador’s notorious prison. We identified FIFTY who came legally, never violated any immigration law, but are imprisoned at the US government’s request and at US taxpayer expense.

Events have revealed much of the Trump administration’s agenda to be illegal, immoral, incompetent, or idiotic. Looks like they may have checked all four boxes with the arrest of the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey.

The daughter’s shreiks of agony in the X videos embedded in this article need to become our collective shrieks against the Trump regime’s repeated attacks on our Constitution and cilviled society. Every time a human being is brutalized by this Administration, we the people become less free.

AOC: We need to be talking about ICE agents and the cowardly policy of covering their faces — and, in many cases, their identification… The idea that we’re going to allow a paramilitary force to bloom, one that isn’t accountable to the Constitution… we’ve got another thing coming.

Multiple lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of ICE officers in masks arresting people excercising their constitutional rights should be filed. Dictators (Nazi Germany, Putin’s Russia) use thugs in masks to arrest opposition leaders, not patriotic Americans. No Kings, No Masks.

Fight fascism wherever it rears its ugly head.

Dr Emma Salisbury@salisbot.bsky.social

On the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, we should remember with unfailing gratitude all those millions who fought for our freedom; mourn all those millions who were lost to war, genocide, and the daily cruelty of Nazism; and resolve to fight fascism wherever it rears its ugly head.

A man who holds the title of President of the United States, who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, who then says he doesn’t know if he’d uphold the Constitution, is unfit to be president and should be removed.

I dislike hyperbole, it cheapens rather than enriches conversations. But let me be clear: the Trump regime’s treatment of immigrant families is an abomination. That it doesn’t surprise me doesn’t make it any less monstrous. Conscience requires that we oppose their unconstitutional agenda full stop.

This is a shocking abuse of power by ICE that has inflicted harm and jeopardized the lives of vulnerable children and a pregnant woman. We are demanding the return of these families.

From the list of grievances in the Declaration of Independence against King George: “He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledeged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation;” Sound familiar?

The president is not a king. The Constitution could not be clearer: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice. Donald Trump would rather fantasize about a fictional third term than do anything to lower costs for working families.

The U.S. has had the world’s most dominant economy since the late 1800s. China covets that position. This Administration’s policies may make it easier for China to overtake the U.S. Perhaps MAGA stands for “Make America Great Again like we were in 19th century.”

In 1862, a Union soldier found cigars wrapped in a piece of paper in a field of clover. The paper was a copy of Confederate Gen. Lee's invasion orders. The Southern sloppiness helped the Union stop Lee at Antietam. It's unknown who lost the orders in the field, or if he was related to Pete Hegseth.
