In Boston’s Beacon Hill (82% white) and Roxbury (88% Black) districts, 2 miles apart, there is a 23 year lifespan difference. Think Ruth Wilson Gilmore: “Racism, specifically, is the state-sanctioned or extralegal production and exploitation of group-differentiated vulnerability to premature death.”

Likewise, Rachel Lancry Beaumont from the EU's #EuropeanCommitteeoftheRegions provided a complementary view on the same subject by policy & practice. Rather inspiring, despite the bleak outlook on the possibly scarce resources for a sustainable and just regional development.

Over the Congress, a large number of panel and paper sessions were held based on inputs by speakers all across Europe, which were quite inspiring. Testing the int'l format may have proven useful, so a continuation in 2 yrs' time seems probable.

When exploring the city of #Porto, Portugal, it becomes evident that major parts of it/of urban life appear to be staged. At S. Bento-Station, more ppl seemingly admire the building rather than taking a train. Can one imagine that will happen to #Stuttgart31?
