Been announced. My project with my friend Jeff, Heavy Like A Crumbling Tower (HLACT) is playing during the off venue schedule of Iceland Airwaves.

I think one of the harder things to do in sound design is be satisfied with just one layer. the urge to add more is hard to overcome.

mastering next Mattesque album. prepping songs for Mattesque show in 9 days. prepping for Heavy LIke A Crumbling Tower show in November. my music plate is feeling very full.

the only bad part of advance voting is feeling like I should know the results right away. instead of 10 days from now. but glad to hear there's lots of voting going on. #evictkensim

making my way through the 90's Outer Limits and just hit the "Josh Brolin's VR sees the future" episode. love seeing who was in these old shows. and all the lower mainland locations. the cheesy music (those string patches!).

love when I'm procrastinating on buying something that's very much a want and not a need and it sells out and I don't have to make that decision anymore.

Yeah this is rad

This is why @emaudible.bsky.social recorded the ambiences using a quad setup! (We went with the standard and then got rid of one of the channels in the edit). She built this contraption using antennas so that it would be portable and easy to hike around with! #BigWalk #gamedev #gameaudio #indiegame

8 songs tracked for the next ambient album. now it's mixing. probably add some bits n pieces in there. and then mastering. feels like ages since I released any music. only been a couple singles and Heavy Like A Crumbling Tower EP this year.

thinking about a logo for local game audio meetup group. what's the most "game audio" thing you can think of for a graphic? asking for real people opinions. #gameaudio

Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people

always love what fellow sound designers come up with to record for their source

What the heck are you all calling this thing????? @emaudible.bsky.social reveals what real world object was used to record the sounds for it 👀🎤

I was just thinking about some of the things I've done in/for the game audio community and the subtle imposter syndrome that follows me around and it really sinking in how all the real impactful things I've done have been when collaborating with others.

doing stuff solo is great but maaannn can we do shit when we work together. I'm so proud of all the people I've gotten to work with bringing these random ideas into being. I've made some impacts but really wouldn't have if it wasn't for the people working with me.

I just thought of ambi-bent as a music genre and I can't be the first to think of this. ambient music via circuit bending. that's already a thing, right?

all this vibecoding ecosystems really has me lose all interest in new plugin companies. like I just start out not trusting anything at this point. got some plugins lately and I realized I'm not going to even install them. just no faith anymore.

Lots of excitement about the squeaky beach sounds in Big Walk! You'll all be happy to know it's the real thing! Was absolutely giddy to get to record them on an actual Australian squeaky beach in Wilson's Promontory. Yes, if you didn't know some beaches there really do squeak. It is pure joy.

Still sad about this.

Very happy to have confirmed our venue for next year. Moving to somewhere a little bigger but still same neighborhood. Save the date! Our Sonic Landscape 2027 will be April 17th.

You should come see my talk. If Could Fall Into The Sky: Making Impossible Sounds. There may or may not be several references to A Thousand Miles, the debut 2002 single by Vanessa Carlton.
