Like I get it - trends change and companies want to move on (even if this is still fairly popular as I understand it), but to foster a competitive scene and abandon it completely isn’t a great move

Desperation stage here! As mentioned on the podcast, I was literally at an Xbox appointment at Gamescom when the green X25 Series X consoles went up for preorder, and they were gone by the time I left. If anyone sees them again, or preordered one and no longer wants it, please do let me know.

Was looking forward to playing some stuff from my Epic Games account on the Steam Machine tonight but the Heroic launcher just won’t work 😫

Seen a few sites, social accounts and YouTubers post about this story (including using the header image I made!) - though technically nothing exclusive here, any h/ts and referral links would be welcome 👍

I've got a column coming about the "core team" thing but the codev/exdev/outsourcing framework that Fuse Games uses is like--the thing?! that I've been trying to describe?! For a year?! There's a lot to *improve* on this model but it's a way to distribute risk on games made by hundreds of people.

Fair play to Apple for responding to my request for comment here with quite a bit of info and context

Mobilegamer.biz@mobilegamerbiz.bsky.social

Game developers are seeing Apple’s app review process take weeks rather than days thanks to the new wave of AI-made apps. "This poor service by Apple is costing developers significantly,” says one CEO. Google Play is handling the flood better, say sources. More here: mobilegamer.biz/app-store-re...

Well, I’ve had a good run of buying new consoles on the day one (Which, ironically, will be the cheapest time to get a PS6 at the rate things are going)

Applied for a job at the uni library as a student, and during the interview they asked whether I minded early shifts. I said not really - so was put on 5am starts four days a week. Lasted maybe a week.

We published four reviews this week at @jank.cool - FOUR! That is more than PC Gamer did this week, or RPS, or Eurogamer, or all those other sites I like but must pretend, for professional reasons, to hate.

Trying a new tack with this: did you or anyone you know publish a zine at all related to games or gaming culture in the early to mid 2010s? "Zine" can be interpreted broadly as any self-published low budget publication.

Legends: Z-A is great. After my Switch 2 took a bath, it's the only Pokémon game I've been tempted to go back and replay.

On this day in 2025, 1 year ago, Pokémon Legends: Z-A first released. This game was located entirely in Lumiose City with a more real-time battle system and had you follow the story of Rogue Mega Evolutions in Lumiose City www.serebii.net/legendsz-a/
