I'm not sure how much more blatant it can get that these guys are looting the federal government and then pointing over there and saying "look what THOSE BLACK PEOPLE ARE GETTING AWAY WITH!!!" bsky.app/profile/atru...
Stephen Miller claims Somali-Americans in Minnesota are "buying Mercedes, buying BMWs, they buy a nice house, all their kids fly first class all over the world"
(This is a lie!)
This is the piece of 💩 congressman who represents the district my parents and brother live in, showing his entire ass in a debate with his first credible opponent in years.
Why is he a piece of 💩, you may ask? For one thing, he’s chickenshit like you have never seen. Got busted some time ago…
…by the senate sergeant at arms for carrying a concealed weapon onto the Senate floor.
He also picked a fight with Colin Allred, an ex linebacker, who very kindly didn’t turn him into a smudge on the floor.
His father was a documented Nazi collaborator in Hungary.
Andy here is a big Orban fan.
Also, I know from my brother that he once came into a shop my brother used to own and operate and tried to negotiate the price of a $10 item for his grandson. (So also a cheap bastard.)
That’s just getting into the stuff that is public knowledge and established. There’s worse stuff out there.
jfc, no, you should not show up at an in-person job interview with iced coffee! And, no, it's not even really about performative corporate bs social norms. You don't show up with iced coffee at a job interview for the same reasons you don't show up with a beverage at a wedding or a funeral.
You will generally be offered coffee or water before beginning, so there really shouldn't be any concern about drying out while you're speaking. And--these are things that you can use to evaluate the company too--do they take steps to help you be more comfortable?
Ultimately, this is a scenario where respect goes both ways. If the company is being respectful of your time, providing you adequate information to prep for the interview and evaluate the job, being communicative about their plans, etc they're fulfilling their end of the deal!

Part of YOUR job in prepping for an interview is to arrive adequately prepared--which includes nourished, rested, hydrated, as well as having done your research, etc. Give yourself a couple minutes so you can use the bathroom or anything else you need before the interview is scheduled to start.
A lot of jobs DO have occasions where it's not actually ok to be carrying a drink around and showing up with one can make you look like someone who can't go more than 30-60 minutes without a comfort object.

It's a semi formal/formal event where part of what you are showing is that you can be not the main character for a little bit! Not EVERY job/org will care, but even informal orgs might care the role you are interviewing for requires social awareness or the ability to navigate different environments.
You run the risk of appearing overly casual or unprepared or presumptuous or babyish--small orgs/businesses may not have daily janitorial service and have norms around not having food/drink outside a break room/your own workspace. These are things you won't know when you go in for the interview.
This is spectacular, folks. We live in a moment in American history when the president and his administration are so racist and dumb that a toy company has to put out a statement saying: "OUR GIANT ROBOT THAT TURNS INTO A TRUCK DENOUNCES RACISM AND HAS NO CONNECTION TO THE CURRENT PRESIDENT."
Hell - I've known for years that fascists take over (and take credit for the smooth function of) systems built by the liberal democracies that spawn them before driving them into the ground.
I never considered that the GOP is, ultimately, also one of those systems.
Not all of it, of course, in either instance. But it's a reminder that in almost every way imaginable, Trumpism is a project devoted to the hollowing out and weakening of the GOP as an electoral and governing institution.
Well, like all part-time vintage/antique sellers, when I determined that I had a day to myself today, it seemed like a good time for sourcing, despite the fact that I have plenty of items to list already. First up, an estate sale near home where everything was ancient.
The gentleman of the house worked for the govt in some way—there was midcentury stuff from all over the world. I picked up this wooden cigarette holder that is also a music box. Almost certainly from occupied Japan.

There was a ton of cottagecore type stuff but some things weren’t in good enough condition for me to bother with. But I did get this handmade cabinet that is sort of perfectly weathered.
This story is crazy.
It would appear Trump admin officials rigged their nationally televised high school civics contest to keep a young man from a Sikh family out of the finalists.

I want to believe in the power of Etsy witches, but logic dictates that if they were really effective, the top google search would be "why did my dick fall off?"
Hi peeps, back on my vintage selling bullshit. I have a piece here that I could do a significantly better deal on if someone was able to pick it up from me locally or even if you wanted delivery within about 50 miles of my home in Baltimore. marycmvintage.etsy.com/listing/4528...
It's a beautiful and HUGE jewelry box, so if you want shipping, you gotta buy off the online platform, sorry. My pricing there incorporates my time/expense associated with shipping also including any sales I might run periodically.
Tech worker waving hands wildly here:
Even if the abundant problems we know about AI tools and these companies in particular weren't true, we would STILL have abundant evidence of the fact that tech companies not only don't tell us how their products work, but actively LIE about it.
RFK Jr. says that HPV vaccine is “dangerous and defective”.
A new study from England shows that HPV vaccines have reduced deaths from cervical cancer to ZERO for women aged 20-24.
Significant reductions in older age groups were observed as well, though the latter have lower vaccination coverage.
Folks, most of the new followers you get on here are going to be bot accounts--even if you don't follow back, you should block them. Passively allowing them tells your algorithm that this is the type of follower you want and it will send more your way.
The less obvious looking bots: female name, usually with a non-matching actual BlueSky addy, avatar and cover photo are of what appears to be a young woman who isn't showing her face, bio is only a generic platitude, posts are only reposts or a similarly vapid post as the bio with a repost.
We had professional photos taken of Grant Beagle by Tina with Barkyard Studios here in Baltimore. These are the images we decided we wanted prints of and they perfectly reflect our little old man’s personality.
Four U.S. military "training exercises" in Pasadena, Long Beach, City of Industry, and Irvine during the last two nights. Only a few hours of notice to residents.
Which lucky SoCal city is going to be kept up until 2 a.m. by gunfire and helicopters tonight?
The absolute bottom of the journalistic barrel is people in the media chiding Scott Pelley for having the gall to confront Bilton. If you want a job licking boots, become a bootlicker. You’re not a journalist.
#Baltimore folks: I will be bringing my vintage business to a flea market at the Catonsville Senior Center this Saturday, May 16, 9-1
It won’t all be strictly vintage but you can consider it all retro flavored.
Some examples of what I will have:
Y2K era accessories
Costume jewelry (and maybe a jewelry box or two)
Vintage/antique china, brass and copper
Cottagecore type decor
LOTS of vintage Christmas
A bunch of other types of things that don’t fit into descriptions nicely!
Almost everything will be under $25 and bundle discounts will be available. I can also take electronic forms of payment as well as cash.
Come see me and then go to the bigger sale at the American Legion in Arbutus!
My god, will clothing brands PLEASE stop forcing me to do your little sizing wizard and give me a size chart. I am curvy, pear shaped and muscular. Your little wizard is not going to be accurate based on just my height, weight, age and your general photo of my body type. But, I know my measurements.

And, you know, if you work for a known evil company or have ever used the excuse "no ethical consumption under capitalism" to make a wasteful purchase or to not spend a little more money to buy locally, maybe you should not be weighing in on what the average army grunt should be doing.
Personally I think it's a good idea to understand the stakes of choices you're asking others to make, even when you believe, as I do, that those choices are moral and worth the costs.
Many things are true at once:
Refusing an illegal order can be the moral thing.
A lot of folks enlist out of idealism or dire need; A LOT of people never really encounter anything but pro-military propaganda.
Folks who will never face a moral decision of great consequence probably shouldn't judge.
I am from a rural, conservative part of the world and--I had NEVER heard anyone express actual anti-military sentiment until I was an adult in college after I moved away.
The only reason my family doesn't have a history of service? I come from folks who have LONG standing issues with authority. 😂
For WIAD Philadelphia, @mecm.bsky.social will illustrate how an IA project can help deeply siloed organizations clarify and align priorities. She'll take us through a case study with the National Cancer Institute’s Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis. www.eventbrite.com/e/world-ia-d...

The Project 2025 author is using millions of dollars in USAID money for his own security detail.
It is estimated that 762,000 people have *already died* as a result of Elon Musk and Russell Vought’s obscene murder of USAID, including more than 500,000 children.
Vought is a mass murderer.
