Friends, if you must assign a diagnosis to Trump and Musk (I don't recommend it), may I suggest calling them megalomaniacs? It's an outdated term in psychology, so you won't be stigmatizing entire groups of people at least. It's also probably closer to accurate than the armchair diagnoses I see.

We’ve been demanding a public inquiry for over a year. Danielle Smith and the UCP keep refusing. Why? What are they afraid a public inquiry might uncover?

Melissa (she/her) reposted

So that’s why she’s not actually helping Alberta families with health care, affordability, education or creating good jobs... Danielle Smith is wasting our time and money on the wrong priorities.

Is Canada heading for a major labour showdown? A new omnibus bill, C-39, aims to speed up projects. The catch? It would grant federal ministers unprecedented strike-breaking powers. Political scientist @David_Moscrop on the unions fighting back: thewalrus.ca/bill-c-39-mark-c...

Responses to this op-ed have fallen into two camps: (1) those rightly appalled by how the mayor & 2 councillors behaved (2) those blaming the motion’s author, suggesting that 3 grown men losing their composure was somehow “her fault.” Thanks to the #Lethbridge Herald for printing this work!!

"Albertans are worried about overcrowded classrooms and increasingly complex student needs, not policing flags. None of the UCP's culture war nonsense helps a single student or teacher," said Amanda Chapman, the NDP's shadow minister of education.

Look, even if you hate infill, you should be absolutely CHILLED today. This is insane, harmful, & if this government had used the same move for something you love you’d have zero recourse. This wild abuse of power holds sobering realities. And it’s hard to shove the toothpaste back into the tube.

This Alberta provincial government wants to do everyone’s job but their own. Poorly They don’t know what they are doing and don’t care. It’s not good governance they are after, it’s populist politics - which it seems they discard as soon as they wring people out of their money and attention.

My fellow Albertans, many of us are gathering around Thanksgiving tables this weekend. Be sure to encourage your loved ones to vote to remain in Canada and no to the nine, and make sure they have a plan to vote! Encourage people to go to the advance polls from the 13th to 17th. #ableg #abpoli #AB

I didn't mince my words. Alberta's anti-immigration referendum questions are racist. They are also a potential disaster for Alberta's economy. Last night, I rose in the Senate to denounce them - and to thank all the thousands of Albertans fighting against them. Please share. #notothenine #cdnpoli

At a moment when we need everyone focused on saving Canada, the UCP is letting down Albertans again. The Alberta NDP is putting ALL our focus and resources into saving Canada. What is the UCP doing?

After being sworn in as MLA for Calgary-Shaw, I signed the pledge to defend Canada. As a proud fourth-generation Canadian, I firmly oppose separatism. My ancestors fought for freedom and Canada in WWII; we carry that legacy on. Albertans deserve to know where their MLA stands.

Today is not a celebration. It is a day of mourning. It is not a holiday for us. It is a day of reflection and pain. We do not ask for 'Canada' to be in pain with us, the empathies are not for us. We ask to be allowed to grieve without being asked for the bone of our children. We want to be allowed

I am touched, as I always am, by the courage of First Nations people and all Indigenous people. Indigenous people have been harmed by the mistakes of Canada more than anybody else, and yet no one has stood stronger in favour of fighting for this country.

As the late Honourable Murray Sinclair reminded us, “there can be no reconciliation without truth.” But today, the bravely, painfully told truth of residential schools has become a primary target for hate movements, as we saw on the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc reserve.

Things are not going well for the UCP. They just lost a by-election in a formerly safe seat, Danielle Smith has the highest disapproval of any Premier & their poll numbers are dropping hard. Albertans are tired of corruption & chaos, so what’s a populist Premier to do? Rig the game. #ableg
