Here’s a list of events I’m doing over the next couple of months. Not a lot of public appearances, but for me and my bandwidth, this is a huge flood of activity! I hope to see some of you! And starting with Spooktastic Book Fair, I’ll have copies of Nightjars!

My first story collection, GREENER PASTURES, will be reissued in 2027 to mark 10 (!) years with @apexmag.bsky.social. A contemporaneous novelette will be added, new foreword + notes. I’m still so proud of this book, even prouder that readers have never stopped finding it across more than a decade.

NIGHTJARS gets a lovely shout out from the great Leigh Bardugo on the latest episode of the New York Times Book Review podcast: “…I also found it super scary and just really loved the characters.” There’s my weekend made! Needless to say, Paul Tremblay is his usual insightful self, too.

Thank you so much, Stina! ♥️🚨

💙📚🩸 Eerie, mysterious, & riveting, NIGHTJARS is a moody vampire novel unlike any other. It's vibrant, thrumming, filled w dread & danger. @michaelwehunt.bsky.social has crafted a superb tale about the power of our past to shape us, and of the Possibility that exists in every moment after. #MSReview

Huge thanks to Jim and the dubiously named "Tom B. Stone" over at Ginger Nuts for this lovely review of Nightjars. 🥰

This was SUCH a good time! I love Brian's work so much, and Greg and Edward are always insightful and fun. If you want to go into Nightjars blind, though, as some have suggested, you might want to save this.

@michaelwehunt.bsky.social and @brianevenson.bsky.social join me to chat about their new novels - Michael's NIGHTJARS (out Tuesday) and Brian's PHANTOM LIMB (Oct 13)! We talk vampirism, hypnotism, and whether Cormac McCarthy should be considered a horror author. All on the new episode of Chthonica!

Every one of those green tabs is a spike of joy into my heart.

“Only flag key moments and genuinely brilliant turns of phrase this time,” I tell myself. But it’s a @michaelwehunt.bsky.social novel. 😳 NIGHTJARS alights on bookstore shelves Sep 29.

AND ALSO I had a book come out THIS VERY TUESDAY! How can that be?! Would love to see folks picking up WICKHILLS -- a ? magical Cold War fantaspionage in a magical city ? I don't know -- but, you know, without blowing your cover. Cover illo by the amazing Tom Roberts! 🤩

Everybody's saying it's one of the best horror novels of the year. Maybe the best. People come to me with tears in their eyes, saying "Oh, Mr. Wehunt, we love Nightjars so much, we couldn't read it at night, it's so scary, it made us cry with emotion, too."

BUY THIS BOOK OR GO TO HELL seriously, it's terrific. Wehunt creates a truly nightmarish world and puts a deeply sympathetic family in the middle of it. It's human and loving while also disgusting and actually scary. Best new horror book I've read since The Buffalo Hunter Hunter.

One last pre-order sale before the nightjar remembers the night on September 29 🥰🩸

After a long and winding shipping misadventure, my Bram Stoker Award is here. I am even prouder now that I’m looking at it, and finally, the tiny Grim Reaper has a house to live in. Thank you again to everyone who voted for The October Film Haunt. 🖤📼

Such a wonderfully kind review of NIGHTJARS. Thank you so much, Michael! I'm a third of the way into the next novel, and sentiments like these are such a huge jolt of inspiration.

Thank you, Chuckabilly! (As I say "Chuckabilly" out loud several times because it's great fun.)
