My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today.
Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.
Book 268:
The Sundowner’s Dance - Todd Keisling 🎧👴🏻🪱💙📚🩸📘🔥
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
A heartfelt and wise cosmic horror novel: one that explores aging, grief, and dementia with gentle hands while still delivering weird, creepiness for nightmare fuel.
The worms dance at night. Jerry is new here but he’ll catch on.

It might surprise some fans that my first work with Stephen King wasn’t THE GUNSLINGER. We first met at the World Fantasy Convention in 1979 when we were both Guests of Honor.

Eric Bauza, the voice of Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes characters, has passed away at the age of 46 as a result of hypertensive cardiovascular disease. He was truly the Mel Blanc of our generation, and he will be missed. Rest in peace.

This is a chilling satirical statement and also, I believe, a real risk of allowing the idea that nebulous, unproven biological advantages should result in bans on classes of people in sports to gain purchase.

There are a lot of GoFundMes asking for $. Many are more important. But this one’s mine. BTW, that super cool logo you see right there? It was designed by the talented MFer that wrote this book. That cost some bones. 🦴
Worth every damn penny. But still. I’m broke! Drop some dimes 💀

Number 1 overall in American Horror. Out of the all the love I’ve gotten for this book, the fact that @stephengrahamjones.com blurbed an unknown author and eventually incorporated it into the possession sub-genre of one of his college classes remains the highest compliment. Thanks, Doc.
This guy has been and still is my ‘human university’.
By that I mean he’s taught, inspired and echoed my inner thoughts & theories more than any other human I’ve ever come across.
Here he is talking about humanity’s “circling the drain”.
His name — GEORGE CARLIN.
I was so happy to get an arc of Milkteeth by @caitlinstarling.com - it was SUCH a cool and original vampire story, perfect for spooky season 🦇 released last week in the UK!!
Book 267:
You Should Have Left - Daniel Kehlmann 🎧✍️💙📚🩸
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Extremely brief but hauntingly effective novelette about a successful screenwriter’s apparent descent into madness. A weird little read that plays in the liminal spaces of our lives. Uncanny and strange. #VintageBooks#YouShouldHaveLeft

I wonder if its because we need some sort of safe outlet to feel all the terrible, life threatening daily terrors we are forced to live with? Maybe feel some kind if catharsis when the untenable evils and billionares are defeated or recieve any kind of comeuppance? Nah thats dumb its obviously satan
