The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️

A recent survey found that 92% of U.S. adults have delayed or avoided medical care due to high costs. Meanwhile, a new study from Yale estimates that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year. If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have universal healthcare.

I used to be mildly against stuff like the French 'right to be forgotten' laws, but I think I've flipped. in the age of agents being able to construct a detailed precis of your entire life trivially you need explicit legal protections over your digital footprint, I think

You should ask yourself why all of the people who are screeching about election fraud on social media are always unwilling to repeat these claims under oath. Let me help you: it’s because they know they’re full of shit. The entire purpose is to keep people angry.

A man named Markwayne, let's just pause there for a minute, wants to stop international travel into several of the world's biggest international travel hubs weeks before the World Cup plays over 50% of their matches in those cities, including the final held in New York. Brilliant. No notes.

Well, isn’t this interesting? Vanguard alone holds between 8% and 10% of overall market value, and what they want to talk about in meetings is… tracking error? That’s new. My sense is a lot of houses are not saying a lot of things right now. Smart money going quiet… hmmm.

Trump is negotiating to settle his lawsuit against his own IRS, and one of the remedies being floated (along with almost 2 billion dollars) is the IRS dropping all audits of Trump, his family, and his businesses. Just absolutely staggering corruption.

So the guy who was Epstein’s cellmate who has had Epstein’s “suicide note” (that’s been kept secret since 2019) is (1) a former cop and (2) was convicted in April 2023 for strangling one man and murdering three more people execution-style. Okaaaay. Sure.
