Thinking about my equipment screen. I remember FF6 had an optimal or best equipment option. Something like that.
I was wondering how that worked, since you could probably have a debate about which equipment is best. Turns out it's super simple, just based on raw physical attack and def values.
If you'd like to support me (for free) you could help out by wishlisting All-in-1 on Steam. It's at 2,000 wishlists now but hoping to reach 5,000 or (even better) 10,000 before release!

I'm pretty happy with the cadence of writing an update post every 3 weeks. Long enough that I always have something to show, but short enough that I feel like I need to keep it moving.
Last one got more eyeballs than even the initial one.
And a little post is far less effort than a yt vid.
Someone ran a poll on X, asking players if they would prefer "all games on Steam made by humans" or "all games on Epic made by AI".
139,568 people voted, with just 1.6% voting for AI and Epic.
Faith in humanity restored!
Finally bought my ticket in advance and managed to see you can see everything.
I loved it. Excellent pacing for a 3 hour movie. Unpredictable enough to stay engaging the whole way through. I think I'm still sorta processing it.
Made a small experiment. My daughter always wanted to draw things for any of my games. So, let's do it. Sketch, scan, rework ( #Krita), integration into the game ( #Godot). #familygamedev#art#humanmade
NEW DLC OUT NOW!
Forbidden Solitaire: The Discarded DLC is out now on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/5238350/...
We hope that you enjoy it :-) Please share, thanks!
Not much to look at, but the equipment text is now pulling from real equipped items, no longer just placeholder text. So there's a whole equipment system behind it now.
Haven't touched the equipment screen yet.

Do you use spreadsheets when you make games? Or do you just kinda... wing it.
I'm sure this is highly dependent on the kind of game you're making.
I tend to wing it.
The thing about game development is they want you to think it's like movies: even working on the base-line of a micro-budget you need hundreds of thousands of dollars for cast, crew, equipment, etc...
Game dev can be like novels: the only budget you need is your own time and effort and a computer
I pinched a nerve in my back (or neck?) which makes doing anything at the computer pretty excruciating for more than a short while.
Bummer because I really wanted to work on the game last night and today a lot more than I did.
Hopefully this heals up soon enough.
Imagine a debate where every candidate on the stage had to drink 3 beers immediately before the debate.
People would watch, people would listen.
in vino veritas
Pushed out a new web build, realized I hadn't actually done that in a while.
The partially completed status screen now shows up. All the stats are zero and the equipment are just placeholder names, but I'll get to those shortly.

One of my personal favorite monsters from Even Goblins Fall In Love, our upcoming indie NES JRPG, is Stabby. Almost everyone who's played the game let's out a chuckle the first time they run into this unhinged mimic with a knife.

Hey for people who have shipped, or are close to shipping, a retro rpg as solo dev or very small team, what do you think took waaay longer than you expected?
Asteroids breach the grid while your drones hold the line.
Targeting reticles lock onto wreckage as you switch to mortar strikes and repair units in real-time.
Give this wave defense RTS a wishlist on Steam!
