In the 90s, Hitachi came up with a bizarre way to conserve memory bandwidth.

Their SuperH architecture, intended to compete with ARM, was a 32-bit architecture that used…16 bit instructions.

The benefit was really high code density. If you can fit twice as many instructions into every...

IT'S UP NOW. We had a lot of fun getting unhappy about how many of the world's problems are caused by the original mass violence workers: ENGINEERS.

When the president was calling all Somali immigrants "garbage" who "come from hell" and "contribute nothing" to America and therefore needed to go "back where they came from" did you ask him to "stop the rhetoric," Tom?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

My group was able to recover a spent canister from a green smoke grenade in Minneapolis. We now confirm with physical evidence that it was a green signaling grenade. Please don't spread rumors about hexachloroethane or nerve agents. #PublicPreparedness #Minneapolis

This should be the bare minimum for any national dems from here on out. It will of course not be. We will hear so much about ICE reform.

San Francisco Bay Area, PLEASE retweet - here's the front desk phone number for KPIX. It's buried deep in the website. 415-362-5550. Press #3 to leave a comment. Call them, say you are boycotting all CBS and Paramount properties until Bari Weiss is replaced

Just as in the case of Jimmy Kimmel's suspension, a consumer backlash is now underway: CBS fans are hearing about the "60 Minutes" imbroglio and calling/emailing local CBS stations to register their concerns. "We have no real support," a reporter at one of those stations told me.

The early web was driven by curiosity & openness, not monetization. Audrey Witters reflects on that era, using her now-famous animated alien GIF as an example of how playful, freely-shared work helped shape digital culture & why preserving it matters. Learn more ⤵️ blog.archive.org/2025/12/22/a...

An exquisite initial M, from the works of the early Christian writer Lactantius. Printed at #Venice by Vindelinus de Spira in 1472 & soon after decorated in the white vine style. In England by the sixteenth century & on the shelves @theulspeccoll.bsky.social in 1715. Inc.2.B.3.1b[1333].

Imagine: 7 years developing a rich narrative universe, complex character arcs, millions of readers, never monetizing it — then 20 years on no one remembers it because it was just a Sprite Comic.

Good morning! Woke to find that it’s apparently now December, winter solstice within touching distance! Somehow I know I’ll dreaming of the light all day! Happy new month to you!

I'm ecstatic over Zohran's election, but I agree, and people need to prepare for how much opposition there will be from the machine. Being very vocal and organized for the policies (less the politician) is VERY important, otherwise Zohran will just be this century's John Purroy Mitchel.

Zohran's success will hinge equally on what he is ABLE to do and how effectively he messages to voters when the federal govt of wealthy interests / police, etc in NYC deliberately sabotage things. we've seen this shit in oregon with elites lining up to torpedo progressive measures

My former proximity to this one moment of ICE barbarism is not the point—the point is they’re enacting violence all over the city. It’s like nothing I’ve seen before.

Horrifying— Barbara Gomes Marques went with her US citizen husband and lawyer on 9/16 to a green card appointment at USCIS office in downtown LA where she was tricked into walking down a hallway away from them, was snatched by ICE and never came back. She now faces imminent deportation in Louisiana.

This might be totally asinine, but I feel like the majority of musicians in my community have embraced more traditional concepts and form over the last few years (self included), and I wonder how much of that is a unconscious reaction to the political times vs us growing older and more knowledgable.

Something that I find particularly upsetting is how in modern reporting landscape, one off text posts from randos can be considered "broadly representative" of their entire sub group.

Rage farming is alive and well. we live in an era where evidence and documentation is easier than ever to distribute, but we're all still talking about what "cucksforchrist" said in the public forum, and the president is successfully distracting everyone with it.
