Now they tell me... well, I'll watch it for halftime, at least.

You can watch simultaneous ASL performances of tonight's pregame and halftime shows on the NBC Sports website, no subscription required. Bad Bunny will also have a Puerto Rican Sign Language performer. It's split-screen with what you see on NBC so you still get the visuals. www.nbcsports.com/asl

If "not putting our service members in harm's way" is "not hostilities" -- Wouldn't firing ICBMs at other countries from the safety of our missile silos also not be hostilities?

Over the weekend, NYT and WaPo reported the Justice Department's argument for why War Powers Resolution should not apply to boat strikes. It comes down to definition of the word “hostilities.” Former State Dept attorney @bcfinucane.bsky.social writes the DOJ argument is "incorrect and dangerous.”

SNAP benefits are issued monthly, not all at once. And the "S" stands for "supplemental" - it's not intended to be enough to buy all the food you'd need for a month, let alone enough to buy a spare month's worth at the same time.

Maybe for housing the new, improved bunker he will barricade himself in after this term ends?

Maybe this is obvious to everyone but…why does the White House need a ballroom? It has enough space for state dinners, no? Is this for dances? Weddings? Storing classified documents? Just confused so the reason would be helpful thx

Secretary "Never worked a labor job in her life" Collins, you first. Like undercover boss. Go work at a dairy farm in Vermont in December for a month or come to my small farm harvesting watermelons right now in Louisiana. Get you some blisters, then try and talk shit about immigrants.

NEW: There's no reason to act like Trump is pursuing a trade policy or an industrial revitalization strategy. These are just sanctions, imposed to intimidate countries and companies into submission like they're universities or law firms. They're what a mob boss would do. prospect.org/economy/2025...

Senator Cory Booker -- nearly 23 hrs into this -- is more coherent than your average elected official speaking (while seated) at an average legislative hearing. Even if you haven't been watching all along, dip in for a moment -- he is making considerable sense: www.c-span.org/event/us-sen...

So, the DOGE kids intend to rewrite the social-security administration's COBOL code-base! and they want to do it ... ... in *a few months* I did a huge dive into COBOL a few years ago (www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/magazi...) ... ... so let me explain why DOGE is *way* over its skis here 1/9

#theresidence - I really enjoyed this show! Every time I thought I knew "who dunnit", there was another plot twist. If you have Netflix, definitely watch. There are 8 episodes. The White House room sets are very well done, and the cinematography is fun to watch. Excellent actors, too.

To the fine folks who may have been mistakenly added to "MAGA" block lists: I'm sorry! I subscribed to several of them in my first days on Bluesky. I've unsubscribed now and hope to see lots of your posts in the future!

I wonder which transition staff member will summarize and present Jack Smith's report in picture form for T, so he can complain loudly about it in his inauguration speech?

Household tip - did you know that bleach "expires"? The sodium hypochlorite component breaks down (6-12 months, depending on how it's stored). Same problem with bathroom tile cleaner with bleach. I replaced an old bottle and wow! The grout looks so clean now!

If the government shuts down Saturday, the richest man in the world will be largely to blame. You may not get access to services you depend on just before the holidays because an unelected billionaire shadow president wanted it that way. If this isn’t oligarchy, I don’t know what is.
