The party that brought you crippling austerity, Brexit, Truss/Kwarteng, Boris Johnson, Kemi Badenoch & her BS about disabled people getting motability cars for acne, & enormous COVID contracts for chums. Christ on a bike, we're fucked aren't we?

Tyranny does not arrive as a stranger. It arrives sounding like you, dressed like you, swearing it is on your side. People will accept almost anything if it lets them feel chosen. That is the whole trick.

There was a video on YouTube last night from Iain Dale's LBC show where he was talking about the welfare system. It began with a call from a man who ultimately wanted to scrap PIP although Iain initially agreed with what he had to say. Next came a caller who had complex mental health issues and...

The quote is best I can get from memory because that video has now been deleted off YouTube. Several people noticed this because Dale got really angry that the 2nd caller responded to this by pointing out that this is a terrible take, that just because he is on a phone call with the radio he...

...is casting doubt on whether he is legitimately claiming. He offered no explanation to what he meant & it looks like he accidentally did a tory trope in a very public way to some guy's face after he told him his issues had made him suicidal. So he just shouted that he put words in his mouth.

... neurodivergence who came on to explain how bad a take that was. They argued about figures which got Dale quite angry & he began saying in response to the 2nd caller saying he'd love to work but because of the system he is unable, 'Why can't you work? You're able to talk on the radio, I mean...'

We loved this so much we just had to put English subtitles on it, apologies to the French speakers for our translation. But this is what it would look like here in the UK if Farage or Lowe or another of their ilk got their own way.

"If no other picture survives Reform UK conference this year, let it be this one. It is a teachable moment. It shows a man called Steve Cooling, moments before he used his walking aid as a weapon. On video, he appears to use this crutch to hit a female protestor over the head" via Ed Kimberley

We need to put our dog into a boarders for a few days, which I told someone about. The response I got was to immediately ask me if I knew about a dog who escaped from one nearby and got killed by a lorry. Thanks a fkn bunch for replacing one moderate fear with an even bigger one.

I don't do this usually as we always had someone we knew who had him. I was already dealing with worry about how he'd settle with them & if there'd be other dogs there he might get into it with. Now I have the added worry about him getting out and dying so yeah, thanks so fkn very much for that. Ffs

Even more relevant today as it was in 2023.

Under a Binface government, anyone who doesn’t accept human-made climate change as fact will be sent back to school, from Year 1 right the way to A Levels, to see if anything goes in the second time round. #VoteBinface

Jezza Clarkson wants people claiming benefits to write a letter to taxpayers thanking them for their generosity – or have benefits stopped. Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm received over £250k in government and EU subsidies, including eco-grants, leaving 100s of acres uncropped. You go first Jezza.

People have been conditioned to worry about a poor person getting their hands on an extra sandwich while being excepting of a rich person having access to a billion sandwiches they could never eat.

EVRI delivered £55 of pet food to me and gave me this as evidence of their delivery. Thanks EVRI for being comically shit at doing the one job you're supposed to do. To be clear, I don't have the package and thanks to the photo I probably won't find it.

All the UK's problems today stem from the Thatcher era and the massive increase in inequality of wealth #BlameMillionairesNotMigrants meme vva Jeff Shute

As a general rule we shouldn't have a system where we have to make an idea that's beneficial to society appealing to someone who just wants to be wealthy. Sometimes the best benefits are broadly spread, not tightly funnelled upwards towards an individual.

Ordered pet food via DPD to a collection point at Matalan. Got a message & code to collect it. Shop didn't actually have it. Called DPD who let slip it might have gone to a different branch. Went to a different branch, they don't have it either. But told they have a habit of declaring items to be...

... arrived & ready for pickup the day before they actually arrived. So, now I have zero idea where my pet food is & ended up having to go shopping for emergency pet food while I work out what has happened to the items I ordered. It's not like it's a small parcel that could easily be lost.
