Socialism is what they called public power.  Socialism is what they called social security.    Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.   Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people. —Harry Truman, 1952

I finally got access to Figma's AI tools, and I am pretty sure they have halted development on it. I had heard it was garbage at launch, and it doesn't appear to have gotten any better a year later.

This isn’t Lincoln or Omaha. This is a town of 25,000 people that hasn’t voted for a democrat for president since 1996.

NEBRASKA CROWD: “TAX THE RICH! TAX THE RICH!” @USRepMikeFlood: “So your proposal to solve (the debt) is tax the rich?” NEBRASKA CROWD: *CHEERS WILDLY* (not sure this went quite as he planned 😬)

What are y’all using to do animations? I want to do some fun micro interactions for AICE, but most tools I’ve seen are way too complex for that kind of work. I recently tried Lottie Lab, but the Figma import and design tools are lacking.

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

Welp, there it is. Busboom Kelly is the next coach.

Be me. Be out of town for the holidays. My daughter is up all night with an ear ache. Look up what places are in network for our insurance. Turns out there is literally no urgent cares in network. Call Aetna, get no help. Go to out of network urgent care. Hope deficiency of coverage claim accepted.

Been building a design system, essentially from scratch (some of the tokens being borrowed from other design systems), and it is a ton of fun, but maaaan, the amount of documentation takes time. Always good to remember that design systems start small for a reason.

Design today isn’t about empathy for empathy’s sake. It’s about finding opportunities to build something people will use in a way that will drive business growth. There’s nothing “soft” about it, except maybe the cat memes.

Hidden benefit of alt text (for YOU, the poster): it's searchable! I can't find 90% of my silly design memes on the dead bird website but here they are all at my fingertips because I can just search for their content

Would love some help from folks on this one. I’m also not seeing much in the way of fitness feeds. Hopefully adding a few hashtags helps with reach. #fitness #homegym #weightlifting

I’ve been doing research on building a home gym and one of the things that’s recommended is rubber flooring or rubber mats. What do I do if literally everything is carpeted and my garage isn’t an option?

This thing is beautiful.

I made a performant pomodoro timer for the web. Won't lose time in the background (thanks to web workers), controllable via keyboard, and includes a brown noise generator for extra focus. It's free, enjoy ✌️ pomodoro.lyons.land #designsky

I was super pumped for the new Arcane season till I realized I remembered next to nothing of what happened in season 1, and the recap was awful. Why do these streaming services take so long to release a new season? It’s been 3 years.
