Five Republicans just voted with Democrats to subpoena AG Bondi over Epstein files. She will now need to sit for a deposition under oath. Trump is losing his grip on his party, over both Epstein and his deepening unpopularity. Keep speaking up. It's working.

Noem deserved to be fired. That is a win for the forces of the Constitution. But the fact that Trump launched a war with the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism and then days into it fired his Homeland Security secretary is a level of reckless incompetence that should get him fired too.

Under Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution, Congress holds the exclusive power to formally declare war, ensuring this decision rests with elected representatives rather than a single executive. Or, at least, that was the idea. Trump’s act is as lawless as it is reckless.

Our system of checks and balances has stood as a bulwark against tyranny for 250 years. The way it works is no one man can dictate how our government works. Congress makes laws, the president executes the laws, and courts make sure laws and rights are protected. We give that up at our peril.

George Retes’s family says he was not taking part in the protest, he was just trying to reverse his car to leave the area as tensions rose. That’s when federal agents attacked him. HE IS A US CITIZEN AND DISABLED VETERAN. Fascist thugs. Where is Congress?! #AbolishICE.

I rarely post personal things. But I need to talk about my 4-year-old niece, Hope. She has a rare disease. A drug called elamipretide has helped her survive. But the FDA recently denied its approval. Now, her health hangs in the balance. Please share her story & urge the FDA to reconsider. 🧵

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

January 6th was more than an attack on the Capitol it was an attack on democracy. The hate, violence, and division on display showed how deep the wounds are in our country. We can never forget, and we must stand against hate to heal and move forward. #StandAgainstHate

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. First Trump illegally sent a child’s father to be imprisoned without trial or due process in El Salvador. Then ICE grabbed her mother to be deported to Venezuela. But despite the mom saying she wanted to leave with her daughter, ICE is keeping the baby!

Full story. The Trump admin is *defending* this as a deliberate decision. They claimed both the child’s parents are in Tren de Aragua (without presenting any evidence) and therefore are arguing that this is in the child’s best interest. Of course, they didn’t file any case. They just took the baby.

washingtonpost.comAs Trump rushes to deport migrants, many worry children’s rights are being violatedA growing number of cases — including a 2-year-old kept in U.S. custody after her mother was deported to Venezuela – reignites fears of child separation policies.

Yep. Core to this administration is the belief by nearly all the people currently running the throne that expertise is inherently suspicious and that they can simply run things better themselves if they don't have any pesky nerds around to question them and push back on their first instincts.
