A game-changer, not just for civic life in London, but for the idea of street transformations for people all over the world.

I've always believed Oxford Street could be so much more than a road. Today we begin a new chapter as the nation’s high street goes traffic free, creating a place where people can spend time, enjoy the atmosphere and experience the very best of our city.

you can join pretty easily with quilcast.com. another app made by a community member deployed a really nice client on hypersnap. There are a couple others - even working on one myself for artists

quilcast.comQuilcast, a Farcaster client for HypersnapRead, cast and reply on Farcaster through the Hypersnap network, with no server in between and your keys kept in your browser.

Not enough people know that a trans woman forked Farcaster to save it from evil capitalist libertarians and is currently winning the fight. Follow @cassonmars.bsky.social or better yet go install Quorum messenger and learn about hypersnap.org the truly decentralized fork of FC's snapchain

I bought my first calligraphy pen when I was 35. Practicing making uniform strokes in a circle became part of my daily practice. I've made hundreds but sold very few of the physicals. I would love to fill a gallery with them someday. If you want to support the journey I'm open to offers and trades.

I've been a dev in crypto for 13 years. I can now say that it isn't the answer because capitalism isn't the answer. And just like DARPA created the internet to one day surveil all of our communications, crypto was invented to do the same for our money & to shift the power balance to private sector.

I still use crypto and I still use the internet. I just think it's important for people to realize there's very good and very bad sides to both technologies.

3) patronage and provenance. The nft hype cycle killed this narrative when The only thing people cared about was speculation. But I think a public record of your art patronage shows a person's commitment to the arts. I'm really proud of my collection. And I know I've supported artists directly.

The secret fourth one is putting all government documents on decentralized ledgers like these whether or not it's a blockchain who cares - we just need to be able to stop corrupt politicians from hiding or destroying information.

1) login with wallet is so much easier than email/pass and more privacy centric than sign-in-w-googbook. And portable. I love that I can login to any "web3" site one click with my wallet and my mxjxn.eth domain name shows up without having to make a profile because it's set on ENS.

2) voting should be built on Ethereum. Votes can remain anonymous but verifiable and the systems and counts could be auditable and public. Ethereum is a large distributed network already so it could not be subject to vote tampering or "trust me bro" bullshit like we have today.

The farcaster situation has got me really thinking about how worthless decentralization is compared to convenience for almost everyone.

It's so incredibly dangerous to lack decentralization when it comes to the media. Like that's how you lose the right to free speech and access to information that isn't propaganda. Every single platform you use Is centralized which means you can be totally deplatformed at any time for your opinions.

Three in the front, seven in the back is hereby known as the people's gears. We will not be taking comments at this time🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲

There are so many things wrong with this, but the thing that really bothers me is the school’s severing of the kid from her own imagination, which is *the main thing* that a 6 year old should be growing.

1/13 When I joined The Forkiverse earlier this year, after listening to a podcast collab of Search Engine and Hard Fork, it was for me the perfect way to get back into the open social network Mastodon. The hosts of the shows were also perfectly clear: this was an experiment, and long term support

The white shape is a calligraphy black letter stroke, the most simple one that is the foundation for a lot of my art.

This framed calligraphy meditation is for sale via auction as an NFT. Why an NFT, you might ask??? I think its valuable for the buyer to have a public record of provenance, and proof of supporting the artist directly. No, I dont think you'll be able to resell it at a profit, thats honestly crazy.

Farcaster by far. Signing a social contract to continue posting, kicking people off retroactively, moderated by AI. Done in such a terrible way. bluesky is my new home I guess, might give nostr a whirl again but it's full of bitcoin maxis so not sure how long I would last.

A combination of two factors led to my having forgotten, today, that Pattern Recognition mentions the Curta calculator having been designed in Buchenwald: (1) I haven’t fully reread PR since writing it, (2) septuagenarian CRS. (Can’t Remember Shit, alas.)

I do love doing calligraphy abstracts and then photograph and glitching them with Glitchlab on android. Most of these were made in 2021. And I sold them as NFTs. It paid for emergency hernia surgery when I was uninsured

100% true, I was active on farcaster for a long time and found some great friends there that had such great intentions. So sad to see what the ecosystem has become, and how quickly it caved almost entirely to technofascist ideals. Luckily, me feeling pushed out of the space lead me to atproto.

Farcaster, the last place in tech that leftists may be found building with crypto, just sold to Network School (Balaji) who immediately performed a major purge of all accounts not aligned with the technofascist right. The right do not want the left involved with crypto.

I had been there for 4 years as a daily user and had 20k real followers. My account was restricted for saying "fuck Brian Armstrong". Farcaster is now a techno fascist Network.
