Again. Again. It was just the usual white supremecist double standard the first dozen times. After Ardayโs sad, avoidable tragedy it feels like more than the usual distraction. They want to gaslight us to death. www.dukechronicle.com/article/duke...

Itโs a lesson that if in 2029 or 2033 or ever we get a chance to fix whatโs broken, we have to fix it and ignore institutionalist complaining. Cause they will complain.
we can learn a lot how Magyar launched โOperation Cleansing Fireโ to reform the courts and completely de-orbanize Hungary the funniest things to me though is that 1. this has been an extinction-level event for Fidesz 2. human rights Watch is mad about it for some reason, truly beyond parody

Twenty-nine people have died in ICE custody since October, the start of the federal government's fiscal year, already surpassing 2004's toll of 28, the previous record, according to government data. n.pr/4sLetjV
This is such a cool paper, but IMO the coolest part about it is the group that came together to write it. When I first started at @kbslter.bsky.social one of the things I wanted to see happen was more collaboration between KBS, Cedar Creek, and my hometown LTER at Konza. And now this group exists! ๐ฅณ
๐๐จ๐ Now published: "Multiple Community Properties Drive Ecosystem Resistance and Resilience to Extreme Climate Events Across Mesic Grasslands". This is the result of a synthesis project by a bunch of early career researchers on data from @kbslter.bsky.social, Cedar Creek LTER and Konza Prairie LTER

"no stupid rules of engagement"
Hegseth: "Israel has clear missions as well for which we are grateful. Capable partners are good partners, unlike so many of our traditional allies who wring their hands and clutch their pearls, hemming and hawing about the use of force ... no stupid rules of engagement."

If America still had the rule of law, this would be the easiest prosecution ever, but we all know absolutely nothing will happen.
As US and Israeli bombs fell on Iran this weekend, bettors on Polymarket โ where $529 million was traded on contracts tied to the timing of the strikes โ were cashing in

I'm amazed that I've seen or heard no mention of this all day, but 75 years of chaos -- and often killing -- in and around Iran and, arguably, around the Middle East all started when the United States caused regime change in Iran! www.history.com/this-day-in-...

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
