Congratulations to President Lula and the people of Brazil! Brazilians have chosen democracy, social justice and a future that rejects the far right. This is a powerful reminder that progressives can win when we fight for working people, stand up for our values and never give up hope.

BC, today is the day. In this pivotal election, every single vote counts. Vote for your BCNDP candidate from 8am to 8pm today. Find out where you can vote at wheretovote.elections.bc.ca

I'm so honoured to receive CAMIMH's 2026 Champion of Mental Health Parliamentarian Award. This recognition belongs to the advocates, families & people with lived experience who inspire me every day. Mental health care is health care. My Bill C-280 fights to make that promise a reality for everyone.

1/ Do you live in Hamilton, Windsor or Peel Region? Avi is heading your way! At a time when workers are under attack and facing skyrocketing costs, Avi and the NDP are joining forces with labour and grassroots organizers to fight back.

Today, @heathermcpherson.bsky.social honoured Irene Mathyssen in the House of Commons. Irene was a champion who fought to make life better for all Canadians. Let us honour her by carrying her legacy forward.

Bill C-39 puts foreign investors’ profits ahead of workers’ rights, environmental protections and Indigenous rights. Canada’s top scientists warn it will cause irreversible harm. So why are the Liberals limiting scrutiny instead of giving this bill the thorough review it demands?

I’m hearing from friends in Alberta that today is actually hitting folks pretty hard. Not the vote to remain, which was a relief, but the other 9 questions.

Tommy Douglas knew then what New Democrats still know today. If we could mobilize the resources of this country to defeat Nazi tyranny, there is no reason we cannot do the same to make sure that each and every person has what they need to live a dignified life. Happy Birthday, Tommy.

TONIGHT! Avi Lewis is joining world-renowned economist Isabella Weber to talk about how Canada can build an economy that serves the many, not the money. Watch the livestream at: www.youtube.com/live/QOdoXQZ...

1/ BC! Advanced polls for the provincial elections close tomorrow. Don't miss your chance to vote to protect our public services and build a stronger province for everyone. Bring your ID, bring a friend and get out to vote for your BC NDP candidate.

On Saturday, Canadians suffered a great loss. MP @gordjohns.bsky.social stood in the House today to share our grief over the soldiers who lost their lives and solidarity with those who were injured.

New Democrats are sending strength to everyone hurt by this tragedy and we are committed to working together with the government, so everyone has the support they need.

Our thoughts tonight are with the Canadian Forces members at CFB Wainwright, their families, and everyone else affected by this terrible incident. Thank you to the first responders who are on the scene working hard to save lives and provide support at this tragic time.

We are in trouble. The Liberals and Conservatives are working hand in hand to fast track Bill C-39 and fulfil their corporate buddies wish lists at record speed. This is the greatest attack I have seen on the Constitution in my lifetime. (1/2)

Alberta, it’s time to vote. While American operators and cynical leaders are doing everything they can to sow division, nothing in their toolbox is more powerful than your vote. Head to the polls today, tomorrow or Monday. Vote to remain in Canada, and no to the nine.

No one should have to choose between heating their home, groceries or prescriptions. I met with advocates on Energy Poverty Day on the Hill to discuss a national strategy to lower energy bills and improve home efficiency. Affordability and climate action must go hand in hand.

Canadians want to build big things, but you can’t build those things without steel. To save the Canadian steel industry and take back control of our economy, Canada must nationalize Stelco.

The Trump-aligned CEO of an American corporation is dismantling one of Canada’s most important industries and 500 Canadian workers could lose their jobs. If we’re serious about making Canada strong, it’s time to take back control of our economy and nationalize Stelco.

2/ Weber's work on inflation and corporate profiteering have informed policy debates and been used by governments in Germany, Europe, Latin America, and the U.S., including by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

6 million Canadians don't have a family doctor, yet the Liberals have refused to invest what’s needed to help close the gap. Before Health Ministers met today, MP @gordjohns.bsky.social pressed the Liberals on taking up this nation-building project so every Canadian can get the care they need.

Kyle Kawsawski, a ton of hardy volunteers and myself were out talking to folks in Sherwood Park on a VERY windy afternoon. We’re proud Albertans AND proud Canadians! I’m voting no to the nine and yes to remain and the folks I spoke to in Sherwood Park are too! 🇨🇦💪🏻

Over 130 Palestinian students remain in limbo due to processing delays—costing admissions & risking lives. I sent an open letter demanding Ministers Diab & Anandasangaree apply biometric flexibilities, review rejected files fairly, & resolve these cases.

The Liberal government is concentrating power into the hands of their cabinet ministers. With Bill C-39, they want to codify the minister’s unilateral power to end a legal strike based solely on the minister’s personal opinion.

1/ Montreal - join us! Avi Lewis is in the city this weekend to knock on doors with Nîma Machouf and Pierre Céré. We've knocked on hundreds of doors already, but there's still ground to cover.

So, Conservatives think public ownership is good when it’s gifting the highly profitable oil industry another pipeline, but not when it means saving Canadian jobs and our domestic steel industry? Interesting. Anyway. Nationalize Stelco.

Scott Robertson@sarobertson.bsky.social

Conservative Labour Critic says nationalizing Stelco is a non-starter because governments "don't run things well," citing the TMX pipeline, while in the same breath arguing the government should build the Pacific Link pipeline because "that's a good thing."

I’m deeply saddened to learn of the incredible Irene Mathyssen’s passing. Irene was a force who fought relentlessly for our movement, and for a Canada that upholds the dignity of every person.

Mark Carney is flooding the zone with a bill that attacks workers, Indigenous rights and our environment. We're uniting with organizers across Canada to stop Bill C-39. RSVP today to join our mass organizing call: www.ndp.ca/stop-bill-c39

We need projects that create the maximum number of good-paying jobs for Canadian families, not just the maximum profits for already profitable corporations.

Minister Diab needs to go.

Jenny Kwan@jennykwan.bsky.social

Minister Diab’s total lack of leadership and basic knowledge of Canada’s refugee framework is hurting families, exacerbating processing delays, and undermining our immigration system. Prime Minister Carney must fire Minister Diab immediately—our immigration system needs a reset.
