UCP priorities from their fall sitting (October 23, 2026): Eliminate EDIA (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility), eliminate regulatory protections hindering proliferation of AI Data Centres, and tearing up bike lanes to induce automotive traffic and remove safe transportation options. #ableg

"We're not homophobes because we aren't scared of homos, we just hate them," is not the flex you think it is. It just means that you don't know what words mean. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #hate #gayrights #transrights #queer #lgbtqia

To those indoctrinated Albertans who believe that "Alberta pays the lionshare of Canada's taxes", which we have heard repeated SO MANY TIMES, here are actual facts: Ontario: 41.8% ($92.39 billion) Quebec: 19.7% ($43.55 billion) British Columbia: 14.9% ($33.04 billion) Alberta: 13.9% ($29.9 billion)

Smith would have to answer for these referendum questions if this was an election platform. Instead of holding an election and defending her position, Danielle Smith held a referendum at our expense and spent $4 million of our own money just to advertise her own position. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

We should have had options, like other candidates with alternative positions instead of just "my way or the highway" from Danielle Smith, with no repercussions (ie, loss of office) if she loses. This was an exercise in fascism, not democracy. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #fascism #xenophobia #racism

I've had to mention a lot this week that immigrants pay the same taxes as citizens. Essential public services like healthcare and education are for Canadian residents, not just Canadian citizens. Citizenship has nothing to do with what you pay into it, or what you should get out of it besides votes.

So what is the #1 ballot question in the referendum? "Decreasing immigration and giving Albertans first priority on new employment opportunities." They aren't even mincing words, creating two categories of "immigrants or Albertans" (Immigrants are Alberta residents too!). #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

So first you're claiming that immigrants don't pay enough taxes because they are already discriminated against in good job opportunities, being pigeon-holed into lower-wage job positions, and because of that you want to discriminate on their job opportunites even further? The beginning of apartheid.

Citizenship has nothing to do with what you pay into it, or what you should get out of it besides votes.

But even with that established, many bigots will attempt to claim that migrants pay less into the system than they do. They do this for a lot of things, like saying I don't pay taxes for roads because I ride a bicycle and they drive a massive pickup truck (which costs us all to maintain roads for).

But even ignoring the lack of factual evidence of these claims, let's break down what the accusation actually means. If migrants are paying less income tax than citizens, all that means is that they are more exploited and paid less. It means they are being discriminated against in job opportunities.

The middle class wants to tear up bike lanes so they don't have to see the poor working people as they drive by. #biketooter #yegbike #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #onpoli #urbanism

Albertans deserve no congratulations until our citizens can stand up for themselves (questions 6-9) WITHOUT throwing immigrants under the bus (questions 1-5). #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #xenophobia #racism #fascism

This was from a little more than a year ago (Oct 3rd, 2025)... Look at where we are now. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #MapleMAGA #xenophobia #racism #hate #publichealth

Last night, the polls (now at 97%) flipped to defeat the "Power Grab 4" questions to amend the constitution to give Alberta power over the Federal government! But the "Racist 5" questions to take away public healthcare, education, and essential services from non-citizen residents stayed undefeated.

At least the charter protections will remain in place to challenge these proposed changes. Citizens stood up for themselves, but threw their taxpaying immigrant neighbours under the bus. Affected residents can't vote. However, communities with diverse populations did vote. DIVERSITY IS OUR UNITY!

I first read this and thought, "What? The most votes on one ballot is over 2 million. That's nowhere near the eligible voters in Alberta (well over 3 million). That's plain misinformation!" Then I read Parker's explanation and I went, "Wait... what? Did they actually think...?!" #abpoli #ableg #MAGA

And this was corrected by a grown adult who says, "of course THEIR are going to be more votes than ELIGABLE voters". And the cherry on top is "More Liberal Math..." #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #MapleMAGA

While the USA is catching up, Canada is running the opposite direction, tearing up bike lanes in major cities. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #onpoli #yegbike #yycbike #yyzbike

I am absolutely sickened by the results so far from the Alberta Referendum (so far sitting at 85% counted)! I said from the very start of all this that we need so much to educate people on the racist and authoritarian 9 questions and not focus so much on #10. Equal rights means nothing in Alberta.

Irfan Sabir posted the riding-speciifc results for Calgary-Bhullar-McCall, which has the most immigrants in Calgary (immigrants can't vote, but their neighbours can). They overwhelmingly voted No to all the 9 questions, up to 89% on one and 70s on some others. For a better idea of who is voting Yes.

For an example of the yes voters: "You people are not Canadian." Public healthcare and education is not paid for by "Canadian citizens", it is paid for by Canadian residents, the taxpayers. It is not just for citizens, and we have human rights protections in Canada. We are not an apartheid nation.

This government spent $4 million of our public tax dollars on advertising their preferred answers to their own 9 questions, while the No to the Nine campaign was entirely volunteer funded and operated. We paid handsomely for our own indoctrination, while the UCP will call it a "grassroots movement".

Comparatively, $26,000 raised by Alberta's Voice by July paid for all the "No to the Nine" lawn signs and 4'x4' road signs across Alberta. They would have been audited by Elections Alberta if they had raised more than $350,000. They didn't. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #xenophobia #racism #hate #fascism

So Albertans are somewhat understanding that fucking over public healthcare and education is bad when it directly affects them as the privileged ones, but they can easily fuck over public healthcare and education for the marginalized and racialized. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli #xenophobia #racism #hate

Also, these unconstitutional questions break all established protections for the marginalized in our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. That is why Danielle Smith needed to make it a referendum to gain public support in overriding Canadian Charter rights, because no court would side with her.

Note that so far the only question getting a No is the one about Alberta rejecting Federal supports Albertans. Like when the UCP tried to prevent dentists in Alberta from taking the Federal dental plan, or when they blocked funding from education that doesn't result in enough "conservative views".

🚨BREAKING: A top federal prosecutor in Texas began the first day of early voting with a stark message to voters: “If you violate federal election law, I will hunt you down and prosecute you. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. We’ll see you out at the polls.” www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

A reminder when you head into the polls today. Alberta taxpayers are Alberta residents. Municipal taxpayers are municipal residents. Immigrants are taxpayers as much as citizens. Cyclists are taxpayers as much as motorists. Stop dismissing those you don't like on the basis of who is "funding" who.

To combine the numbers, that's 62% who would completely discontinue practice here, and 18% who are unsure, meaning that we could see between 62%-80% of doctors stop practicing here, with only 15% ready to continue practicing in Alberta if we separate. That's pretty damning. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Separatists believe that there is no issue with most of the doctors and other professionals leaving the province (this is called "brain drain") because "eliminating taxes" will make everybody filthy stinking rich, and everybody will come flocking to Alberta so they can get rich by not paying taxes.

This Alberta provincial government wants to do everyone’s job but their own. Poorly They don’t know what they are doing and don’t care. It’s not good governance they are after, it’s populist politics - which it seems they discard as soon as they wring people out of their money and attention.
