I'm looking for an artist who is very inspired by Tove Jansson. Let me know if that's you or someone you know/enjoy. Thanks.

My local election made it basically impossible for me to vote since they didn’t have any mail-in options & voting by proxy was a convoluted process involving getting a clerk to sign off on our identities anyway so I just have to scowl about my diminished voting rights & endure reminder to vote calls

I have decided to make a pauper commander deck and go to a pauper commander game night next month. I like commander and love building decks, but it's expensive and I want to make stuff out of all the cool cards everyone tells me are bad.

Just got all my boys together to take on the wandering ronin who came to town. There’s like 15 of us and only one of him so pretty much the only thing that would give me any pause is if he was master of the devastating and lightning-fast iaidō style. But that’s not likely. Coward hasn’t even drawn h

I was talking to my brother about MtG yesterday and one of the disconnects between different sorts of players; specifically, how you might find some exciting mechanic and tell the Internet about it, only for people to tell you it isn't very good because the chances you'll pull it off are quite slim.

we have nothing left!! discord's selling your data to poorly secured third parties. The entirety of bsky staff has AI psychosis. twitter is ran by a fascist pedophile, tumblr is censorship happy, patreon disables your account of you breathe wrong, youtube's demonetization algo is inscrutable

a wee bit sick and light on actual work today so I've decided to relax by designing a megadungeon inspired by the underground Eternal Cities of the Nox in Elden Ring, and also a bunch of monsters from Essential Enemies, the Demonic Grimoire, and elsewhere

Ran a play test of #Fluxgate tonight and it went really well! I had the players escaping a crashing luxury barge beset by alien pirates. Tried out alien linguistics, combat, dogfighting, and consequently got to experience a crash landing (which the players survived).

We had a great scene where one player attempted to maneuver a fightercraft up alongside the barge so the other player could leap to safety. Of course he biffed the jump and was clinging to the side while an enemy fighter circled around to shoot at them. It all went sideways fast but in a fun way.

Lots to think about though. I will definitely be making some adjustments to pull this game away from its #alloutapocalypse roots and into more of a Flash Gordon / John Carter space.

I think it felt very dynamic and tense. I think the system is doing a good job capturing the kind of action I am looking for, where things move quickly in the narrative without getting too bogged down in the minutae, but still offer players the option to enact plans as hair-brained as they prefer.

I am an alchemist!!! Behold my powders! I got a cheap second hand dehydrator. I am doing oranges and tomatoes, but I threw some orange rinds in as well. They got finished quickly so I pulled them out and pulverized them with sugar. I'll try this on tea, toast, and maybe make an orange simple syrup?

Gotta install shelving and make a few other adjustments but I'm happy with how my new basement workbench area is coming along. It will be much nicer to have a separate area instead of taking up half my office.

Inktober Day Three: Miniature This was meant to be a quick exercise every day but I'm finding it surprisingly time-consuming? Hopefully I can stick it out for the duration.

Inktober Day Six: Ogre Would have liked to tweak the wording a bit more, but I have a 10:30 hockey start and I'm out of time.

Lol the neighbour's new rooster escaped and found its way into our back yard. All is well and he has been recaptured unharmed. He did not like giving up his little hiding spot though.

I just heard my front door creak and my dog and I went over to investigate. It was quite breezy outside so I said to the dog "must have been the wind." I'm getting fus-roh-dah'ed, aren't I?

I hate when I start looking at reddit or youtube shorts and when I look up ten thousand years have passed and I'm sitting in the mouldering ruins of my castle. I like to think the algorithm can't fool me but obviously these tumbled heaps of mossy stone say otherwise.

I sometimes think about how many people are running home games with incredible house rules or full on homebrew systems that only one single table will ever experience. I bet there are tons.

Our little dog is apparently still fully functional, reproductively speaking, so we are gonna have an interesting couple weeks, followed by an expensive one.
