I play videogames (mostly Nintendo). I also draw stuff (mostly Nintendo). Proud dad to two Small Fries. Webmaster of nindb.net and former comic artist on Nintendo Force magazine. Not a former astronaut.

We have an original 1980s copy of Letterland, and Ticking Tom the Teletouch Man and his Technically advanced Teletouch Tower is Tucking Tilarious!

We tried "everyone is entitled to an opinion" for three straight decades and all we have to show for it is four thousand cases of measles and a death cult running the government. It's time for people who don't know what they're talking about to shut the fuck up.

You know in vampire stories (or Doctor Who) when someone finds an old photo of another character from decades ago where they haven't aged at all?

An amazing image from Twin Peaks, Dune, and Fallout star Kyle MacLachlan's memoir "Fictional Selves" that just shows how awesome Patrick Stuart is.

Game Boy love! (I'm sorry, Avenging Spirit. I have not drawn anything from you.)

One of them just emailed saying that their 'offer to review my game' was limited to 30 days, so I had better send the key quickly!!! Here's your key OFF-FUCK - i've scrambled it for security purposes

So Visionquest is ok so far. A little unfocused. But it's punctuated with moments of James Spader just absolutely hamming it up and it is glorious.

The little mascot character in Picross 3D teaches you the rules, has some silly animations, panics when the time's nearly up... ...but was never given a name! Not even buried in the manual. I think that's just rude!

so hey guess what

For those who probably are gonna ask, this box was the most expensive item in this photo, and no, it doesn't contain the games. But I already have the other two boxes complete, so I figured this would be my opportunity to finally start as complete sets get more expensive in the future 😅

Not sure it counts, but got a job at Burger King in Basingstoke in 1999 or so. After the interview, the guy said "We already have a Mark here, so you're Steve now." and slid a random name badge across the table at me. I did not turn up for my first day and I do not regret that.

Do tell me if one of the Majora's Mask cards on the Nintendo Today app over the next few days is Tingle. It is the object I most desire.

Thought I'd try something... I read the Sherlock Holmes story "The Blue Carbuncle" (an excellent tale) and immediately followed it by watching Jeremy Brett's performance of the same. It's no exaggeration to say JB not only captured the spirit of Holmes, but made him *even more* engaging. A master.

The culprit, Ryder, was played by Ken Campbell, who I have just discovered was also mentor to Nina Conti, the ventriloquist performer currently on Taskmaster S22, who made a whole documentary about him after he died. ROLLERCOASTER!

My phone screen has been loose for a couple of weeks. Broken clip or a loose screw, I reckoned. I finally opened her up to check what was going on, and I'm pretty sure I've been carting around a stinky, damaged li-ion battery in my pocket for a couple of weeks! 😱

this is a 10/10 character sheet holy shit

Ended a mad Saturday by finishing off X-Men 97. I like the show, but I also enjoy how creative the setpiece animation can be. The Nightcrawler fight from Kurt's POV is nauseatingly good. And I finally get Jubilee now! Show is good.

As I saw someone predict, Majora's Mask is on Nintendo Music this week. Today's music listening will be unhinged! Interesting that Majora's Mask 3D isn't included in the update.

Post-baby zero-sleep brain fugue is real. They should take away parents' social media until the baby is at least 18 years old.

no shortage of AI slop these days, but i think "the creators of dizzy are coming back to make a new game and it's AI slop" has me gobsmacked more than anything else. dizzy? fucking dizzy? you can't draw a fucking 8-bit egg on your own anymore? and you willingly admit this??

Long story short, after 19 months of larking about, we finally got a moving date approved! A couple hours later, before we even toasted the sale, the queen died. Date had to move because no moving company would work on the day of her funeral. 😑

I do not take my Switch 2 places yet. It's worth so much money! I've been enjoying taking my DS out with me again though. A solid, low cost handheld that isn't the pet project of a warmonger or AI shill.

dude we need to bring back the $100 handheld. not a portable PC deck thingy, not a console you can take on the go. an honest to goodness $100 handheld.
