This Super Bowl Sunday, here's a reminder of what real courage looks like.

If my mother hadn't lost her battle with cancer, today would be her birthday. She taught me to love books, to keep up with the news, & to value ethics. I wonder what she'd make of a time when cruelty is applauded and autocracy is on the march worldwide. I'm sort of glad she didn't live to see it.
